Who do you think you are is a super, even thrilling TV series. Almost like an up to date 'This is your Life' we go beyond the person to find out their family history. What has surprised me is how much suffering there was, and so just how comfortable we are today.
Great TV! Well worth buying.

How sweet it is that, during a time of mediocre, tidy-bearded comedy, this was ever even commissioned by the BBC. Talking Cockney dogs, songs about loose muesli and Bergerac's laundry sack, pants Lovejoy impressions, untucked cowboy boots... it's got everything. Simply magnificent.

I haven't bought this yet but my birthday is coming up soon and I certainly will be receiving this. I seen every episode of this over and over again and wouldn't have it out of my dvd player when I have it. If you like your comedy eerie, derranged, mentally puzzling and very slapstick. This is the undoubted best comedy series ever for you. There's also a lot of normallish parts in this including the chat show hosted by The Stott brothers( the strange squeaky scouse gordie scottish characters) who interview a star in each episode. Caprice, Michael Winner, Paul Mckenna, Sinead O'Connor, Nick Ross and Damon Hill all receive the punishment from the brothers. When R & M are revealed to the audience at the start of each show they begin with their own making ... Read More:

Set in the Midlands, i bought this movie because i was born in Nottingham, i spotted alot of things that were familiar with the film so i loved it.

The film itself is good, with no American actors to spoil it, it drags on a little and i think that it could have had a better storyline, i just love everything lower-class about this film, language, cars, situations are all spot on.

Great film for anyone who likes British films.

A comedy that begins brilliantly and is well sustained up to the shoot out in the garden centre, after which it becomes too plot heavy and the humour fizzles out. At its best when it is at its most surreal and most desolate (i.e. in the first half).

I watched this show when it was first aired back in 1990; I was only a kid and had seen nothing like it before, even then I knew I was witnessing something special with Big Night Out. All I could remember from the show was: the Man with the stick, Les and his spirit level, bits of Novelty Island, and of course, the immortal line ''you wouldn't let it lie'' - which, like any other self respecting 10-year of the time, I had etched onto my pencil case to show I was a true fan. So as to why it took me so long to buy this series on DVD I don't know. Maybe part of me was apprehensive it wouldn't live up to it's glory, and all the magic of 'Big Night Out' was just conjured up in a blurry memory. Turns out I was wrong; this show is every bit as funny as it was 17 years ago ... Read More:

I'd been desperately waiting for this to be released, as the original DVD turned out to be edited highlights, and I loved the second series dvd and the third series, which I'd seen part of in the UK when on holiday last year.

This first series turned out to be great - and includes more episodes than the other one. Just waiting now for number 3 to become available, as we are likely to have a long wait for any more to be shown here on NZ TV.

Big stars, big production, big ideas, big marketing and promotion.

End result? To quote Vic from his Big Night Out series, 'Very poor'!

There are many, many problems with this series, but the biggest is the acting from the main two leads. Vic isn't great, but Bob is simply appalling.

I can't be bothered to go on with this review, the whole thing is depressing me.

Not recommended.

Frankly, I am mystified by the rancor this movie has generated! I have to admit that I was somewhat sceptical when I first heard of this film. But now that I own it, I will recommend it to all and sundry. It's a hilarious send-up of Hollywood's quasi-Roman tendency to rewrite history however they see fit and steal everyone else's best gods and heroes and to make them all born in the U.S. of A., while making all of the villains English. The glaring anachronisms, the stupid historical rewrites, the blatantly jingoistic viewpoint -- in effect, the Hollywoodization -- of the Churchill story make this a very good comedy for those who are familiar with (and sick of) the Lowest Common Denominator Hollywoodized Pseudo-Historical Action BioPic genre. It's mostly Mel Gibson's ... Read More:

DVD : Monkey Trousers - Series 1
This series was I guess, conceived for Bob Mortimer to come out of Vic Reeves' 'shadow', seeing as he features in many of the sketches. If that was the case, then it backfired appallingly and only served to confirm what I thought all along, namely that Vic Reeves really was carrying Bob Mortimer as a 'duet' and that Mortimer will never be a comedy performer as long as he's got a hole in his backside. No sense of comic timing, laughable comedy acting abilities (for the wrong reasons), and even with his 'croc botherer' he can't seem to make his mind up whether to do an Aussie accent or a Middlesbrough one.

In a way it's a shame because some of the scripts are quite funny (many of them seem to have been written by Reeves and Mortimer, so perhaps Mortimer should stick ... Read More:
