I heard quite a bit about the book, so started reading it. Never really got into it so decided to rent the film out (as you do)...although i have to say, i really was disappointed.

I thought the story was mediocre, the start and middle was quite good, it was like a big build up to something. Something like an unexpected twist; although i waited and waited..then it was over.

I was left thinking, is that it??

3 words to define one of the most dramatic, dark erotic films of modern cinema... passion, obsession, jealousy. roman polanski proving he is one of the greatest, long standing directors out there.. up there with his : tenant, rosemarys baby, and the most recent acclaimed the pianist..
peter coyote ( he was in ET!), emmanuele seigner as seductive as it gets, and a perfectly cast hugh grant, in his usual persona but at the same time in his most serious role ever, in a story that once seen will stay with you for a long long time.. forget "last tango in paris" this is as deep, unsettling, hypnotic and sensual as an erotic film can get.....

DVD : My Brother Nikhil [2005]
I came across My Brother Nikhil by mistake. I was intrigued, took a chance and bought a copy (from a seller in America advertising on Amazon UK - why is this film not more widely and easily available?) and am glad I did.

The film is set in Goa, from the mid 1980's to the 1990's. It tells the story of Nikhil, (in a semi documentary kind of way), and is narrated by his sister (played excellently by Juhi Chawla), his parents and male partner, taking the viewer back to the "actual events" as they happened.
