The good bits in this movie are all in the visual part. The camera work is stunning and the wildness of Alaska hits you hard.
But I couldn't imagine that anyone was as perverse or plain dumb as this character. Surely on your first day in a snowbound winter landscape, you don't willingly jump into a river? This and other acts of stupidity left this viewer totally out of sympathy with the character.
Then there is the way he patronised everyone who helped him. These people were kind to a smartass boy who repaid their kindness by leaving them to sort out their own mess, which he had usually made worse. He would listen to other people's problems and then say "good luck, I'm off to have an adventure". I couldn't wait for a bear to eat ... Read More:

Mindless entertainment and it would be churlish of me to pick too many faults with a film that features cameos from William Shatner, David Hasselhoff and Chuck Norris!

Comedy action thriller in which Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie play married couple John and Jane Smith who are unaware that they are both assassins working for rival agencies until they are ordered by their respective bosses to kill the same target (Adam Brody of The O.C. fame). Being given the same job leads to the couple discovering the truth about each other and they are then ordered by their respective bosses to kill each other, and are given 48 hours to do so. Will they obey their orders or will they remember their marriage of half a decade or so? This movie is undoubtedly entertaining, with lots of explosions, gunfights and diverting action sequences. The banter between Pitt and Jolie as they attempt to kill each other whilst still calling ... Read More:

It's hard for a comedy film to stay entertaining over two whole hours but this one managed to do it.Rarely hilarious, the storyline often plain silly and unbelievable it nevertheless keeps you watching because the acting is good and the characters likeable and the whole thing is beautifully filmed in some nice locations in sunny weather.

DVD : Old School [2003]
Old School is advertised as a comedy and it is funny for the 90 minutes it runs and always has plenty of action and lively dialogue going on.And the idea of a bunch of people in their late thirties forming a club at a university is fairly original. These are nice guys who never grew up and the world is a brighter place because they didn't and your day will be brighter if you watch this film.

Firstly, I usually can't stand this kind of film, but I ended up watching it one day when I was a bit bored and felt compelled to write this review because, quite simply, its actually really good.

The overly simple and to the point title is really apt. The film is a very unpretentious, focused and down to earth account of the final days and aftermath of a couple's relationship. As such it is incredibly raw, surprisingly realistic and consequently not all that comfortable to watch at times. I don't mean that as a criticism, as my point basically is that there is more, or perhaps less (in a less is more kind of way), to this film than one might expect.

The performances are all solid and heartfelt. I don't think either Aniston or Vaughan ... Read More:

Anchorman: this is a hilarious film set in the 70's, will farrel is a top flight news reader with the whole of San Dieago behind him. Then his worst nightmare comes true when a beautiful 'woman' (where in the 70's)wants to become an anchor as well. the rest you will have to find out for yourself, but i insist on you watching it as it is amazing. i was in histerics the whole way through.

Old School: this is another hilarious film featuring basically the same cast, will farell etc. mitch is talked into forming a fraternity (even though hes not at college) by his mate will farell. they are obviously found out and risk having the members expelled from uni. but to see all the best bits and how the story unfolds buy this collection and you will be set for life. i ... Starsky and Hutch takes about 45 minutes to find its feet and become humorous and interesting. One episode of the 1970s tv programme is way more entertaining than this film but if you like spectacular stunts with cars the film is worth seeing for the last ten minutes or so.

'Mr and Mrs Smith' is a light hearted action/comedy. OK the plot is pretty bad, it has a rubbish ending and it may be a touch too long (all reasons for my 3 stars), but it wasn't trying to win any Oscars and is a fun, fairly innocuous, way to spend an afternoon. There are some funny moments, loads of action scenes and plenty of eye candy for the boys and girls. Some people seem to rate this film based against all others ever made, in that contest it will never win. But as an example of light entertainment it doesn't do too badly. Not brilliant, but not terrible either. Worth spending an afternoon watching when you don't want to think too hard.
