This wasn't a particularly amusing movie and I would say its strongest point was its special effects. The story lacked credibility and failed to draw me into the world the writers had tried to create. This was largely because Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith just didn't seem as scared of the aliens as I think people would be in real life ( particularly aliens this ugly and nasty)and there was no development of characters - their personalities were exactly the same at the end of the film as they were at the beginning.I'd heard a lot about Men In Black and I've gotta say that it is overrated and the 1980s film Ghostbusters with Bill Murray is funnier and way more interesting to watch.

Marvelous. Take a transvestite writer producer, A, hasbeen Movie star, a bald headed wrestler, Wobbly sets, Paper plates on strings suspended from a, fishing rod,and a Rubber octopus. These two films are briliant because their not from the point of veiw that aliens are big scary monsters their just normal. Its about how aliens are just trying to live their lives on Earth. Will Smith is great in the films aswell as he brings some real funny moments but the one liners and reactions of tommy lee jones are the best. Loads of extra stuff aswell. Including how all the aliens were made because their not all fake looking CGI things. The films have got something for everyone.

the most influential and seminal work to come out of hollywood on modern day warfare .
it is both stunning and philosophical with a very pluralistic look at the vietnam conflict where it has no sentimental observations about the victims but just a non chalant attitude to the protagonists who are involved in war as a casual everyday necessity.
it is neither patronising nor glorifying just seeking to express the perceived truth from the makers viewpoint and it reaches a celestial height both creatively and artistically .
matthew modine gives a great performance but the limelight is stolen by the cameos and short -lived but memorable characters played by a terrific cast of gifted actors .
kubricks definitive look at twentieth century war ... Read More:

There was a time when Elisabeth Shue was going to be 'the next big thing' and watching this film you truly believed it too.

The lovely Elisabeth holds the film together with her pure energy and 'like-ability factor'. As seventeen year old babysitter Christine - almost a baby herself - she manages to experience a series of mishaps, scrapes, run-ins and (yes) adventures in the course of one long evening, when she reluctantly agrees to pick up her runaway friend from the downtown bus depot (Brenda - hilarious bit part in this film - who adds some really funny moments whilst stranded at the depot ?! ).

The children who tag along for the ride are lovely out-of-town naive characters who each contribute something to the value of the plot. ... Read More:

This stands the test of time well. More than 20 years after its release, there are few better films that demonstrate the horror of war. Whether Kubrick was anti-war I don't know, however this certainly gives that impression.

Told largely from the point of view of Private 'Joker', who once in combat wears a peace symbol (better know in the UK as the CND symbol) on his uniform. I suspect this wouldn't be allowed....

The first half of the films deals with the new recruits brutal training, and those who aren't up to the training can only expect humiliation and brutality. Private 'Pile' is the example in this film, who suffers greatly and eventually cracks.

The second half of the film deals mainly with one platoons attempt to deal with an enemy ... Read More:

Firstly, I usually can't stand this kind of film, but I ended up watching it one day when I was a bit bored and felt compelled to write this review because, quite simply, its actually really good.

The overly simple and to the point title is really apt. The film is a very unpretentious, focused and down to earth account of the final days and aftermath of a couple's relationship. As such it is incredibly raw, surprisingly realistic and consequently not all that comfortable to watch at times. I don't mean that as a criticism, as my point basically is that there is more, or perhaps less (in a less is more kind of way), to this film than one might expect.

The performances are all solid and heartfelt. I don't think either Aniston or Vaughan are incredible actors, ... Read More:

A parody of Hollywood, once more, Gosh. Nothing new will ever be done on that subject. It is a rattlesnake nest and nothing else. Only the details may change but the wider and the finer pictures are always the same. This particular film what's more is showing that everyone hates everyone and that everything is crooked and that all the every's you may think of are all berserk and warped. So what! What's the point? Is there a point? A no star film that ends up with stars. A bad ending that becomes good , they say happy, I know. An author who sells his skin for a million dollars. An exec that sells his soul for ten times more. Each million of those ten millions are extracted from the bones of one body turned into corpse. Morbid, morbid, morbid ! You kill someone and then within a week you make his ... Read More:

I love this film, it was probably one of Julia's first ... but i just love it!!! I'm a sucker for anything with a happy ending, a bit chick flicky!!

It always makes me wish i was there when i watch it too! It also restores your faith in men if you are going through one of those phases where they are just utter pigs ... Daisy thinks she has chosen one, but he proves her wrong in the most heart touching way. I've never been to Mystic, and it doesn't look like there is an awful lot there, but i'd love to go. I'd love to live somwhere where you can get fresh lobster all day everyday!! Jo-Jo is adorable too, she is your typical wanting to settle down girl, but is afraid of losing her independance, she is a little rebel, but Bill calms her down and she comes round in the end! Kat is your ... Read More:
