This film has helped me through so many bad times. Round about the time this was released on DVD i lost my mum to cancer. This was the last film I watched with her so nowadays it has sentimental value. This is a perfect film to watch if you're depressed as it does make you feel better after you watch it. This is my fave movie ever. I watch this nearly every month because I love the movie so much. This cannot be repeated twice, there can't be a sequel to it, It's a golden tear film (meaning weepie) The power that this film has is unbelievable. If you have lost a loved one then you'd know the power that i'm talking about. The acting is superb. Patrick really does make you believe in this character and this nightmare he is going through and by the end you ... Read More:

DVD : James Bond - Tomorrow Never Dies (Ultimate Edition 2 Disc Set) [1997]
James Bond (Brosnan) investigates a TV media man who is linked to a possible war brewing in the Chinese sea between the Chinese and British.

Pierce Brosnan reprises his role as the famous British agent after a great start in the critically acclaimed Goldeneye. Expectation was high and Brosnan doesn't disappoint as once again he dons the suit and tie as James Bond in another classic action thriller, if not the strongest in the series.

With a fantastic opening surrounding the criminals in the weapon market, Tomorrow Never Dies sets the tone for a high octane adventure and the hero enters, delivering another great opening line, punching a smoker and giving viewers that wonderful pun that only Bond can do.

Unlike many Bond ... Read More:

The history of the latter Bond films is one of false dawns, with sporadic good or near-great Bond films promptly followed by horribly disappointing ones. OHMSS was followed by the lazy Diamonds Are Forever, The Spy Who Loved Me by Moonraker, For Your Eyes Only by Octopussy, and sadly Pierce Brosnan's enjoyable Bond debut GoldenEye remained true to form in being followed by another clunker. Tomorrow Never Dies was a famously troubled shoot, with a constantly rewritten unfinished script the most visible of its many problems. It's that classic `inbetween good Bonds' film that just feels like its treading water while they recharge their creative batteries for the next one. The premise may sound absurd - Jonathan Pryce's media mogul tries to start a war in Asia to boost ... Read More:

What I extremely like about "Batman" (1989) bounces back again in "Batman Returns": schizophrenic characters (in "Batman" there were at least two super-schizophrenics - I shouldn't name them, should I? - but here there are distinctive three of them), enchanting atmosphere (the sets are beautiful, "gothically" menacing, and simply outstanding), cool acting (when I say "cool acting" I mean my absolute inability to poke finger at the characters with disrespect and contempt; quite the other way round: I do respect all the characters here, while they are never goofy, stupid, or over-sentimental), great action scenes (fighting against the hordes of clowns, great acrobatic stunts - I am especially happy with that scene where clowns are jumping onto the Xmas tree and bring ... The Golden Door is a wonderful film, beautifully photographed and directed with a magical touch. The images stayed with me long after - the peasants in Sicily, the boat leaving the port for America and the myriad of faces of the new immigrants at Ellis Island. In a sense it could be seen as two films in one - the first part is the sad leaving of a homeland but tinged with optimism and the second part is the harsh reception for the Sicilians when they eventually arrive at Ellis Island. This makes clear that they really had entered into a quite new and different world.

It was particularly touching the way the illiterate Sicilians from a peasant background had so little comprehension of what the "ability tests" were all about - it showed a complete culture clash.

After the brilliant re-start which was Goldeneye, Brosnan and the team at EON, managed something of a first for the genre with TND. Fans would never again be able to defend the low points of the series with the truism that 'even the bad ones are good', because this film (which wouldn't be lonely for long)was not just a bad James Bond film, it was was a hands down, bona fide turkey. The only thing it now has going for it is the fact that, following the release of Die Another Day, it is redeemed as only the 2nd worst James Bond film of all time...a lucky break which neither it, nor the paying public deserved...and don't even get me started on Sheryl Crow's theme tune.

To start with I have to say that this is one of the best films that I have ever seen. The reason - it really is simply magical; it has a lovely feel about it that can't be expressed in words.

Now to those who want a story accurate to the traditional German folk story, as was collected by the Brothers Grimm, this may not be for you. It in fact is really quite different though it does stick to the general premise. It incorporates a mix of elements, many new, however others taken from "The Snow Queen". However, as all folk and fairy tales change over time, this version is no inferior to any other, and in my opinion at least this is the best.

Many reviewers have called this a "dark" film. I wouldn't necessarily agree, though it is definately darker than the Disney classic "Snow ... Read More:
