It's difficult to imagine any dramatisation of 'Bleak House' being better done. The cast is uniformly excellent and the adaptation successfully captures the 'page-turner' quality of the book. Not to be missed.

I was half way through watching a clockwork orange when i couldnt help but think what is all the fuss about??. Yes it may be shocking but that is all it is. Some times people for some reason regard controversial films as masterpieces when in trueth they are average. A good performance from the lead but the storyline is patchy and doesnt flow well. The film realise on shocking rape scenes to make up for the awful storyline, maybe a sign of poor filmmaking but thats being way way to critical

The only reason i have given "A clockwork orange" 4 stars is because of Kubricks other work such as Full metal jacket and the shining and the fact he is no longer with us influenced my desicion. For this film alone i wouldnt go further than 2 stars ... Read More:

A well acted series but spoiled by the fact that a number of the episodes were not taken from Reginald Hill's brilliantly written books but created by the Tristams of the BBC. Why oh why try to reinvent the wheel.

DVD : Dalziel And Pascoe - Series 3
This four disk set contain the entire third series of Dalziel And Pascoe. Starring Warren Clarke (The Invisibles) and Colin Buchanan (The Pale Horse) The episodes in this set are Underground, Child's Play, Bones And Silence and The Wood Beyond. The episodes have english language options with removable subtitles. Being a Dutch import the packaging in in Dutch language but don't let that put you off.

Like the Silent Witness dvds the UK releases seem to have stopped with series two. At least we can still buy the Dutch release through Amazon. Now lets hope that the rest of this excellent series is released soon.

'Top Secret' is one of the comedies from Jim Abrahams, David Zucker and Jerry Zucker. During the years they have brought the wonderful 'Airplane!', the very funny 'Naked Gun'-series, two 'Hot Shots!'-movies, 'Jane Austen's Mafia!' and 'Rat Race'. This movie belongs in that list of very funny movies. It is not as good as 'Airplane!' or the first 'Naked Gun' but it comes close.

Val Kilmer is Nick Rivers, an American rock n' roll singer, who comes to East-Germany. To tell you the truth I can't remember really why he did that, but of course that doesn't matter very much. In East-Germany he meets Hillary Flammond (Lucy Gutteridge). Her father is imprisoned by the East-German regime and Nick wants to help Hillary to find him back. The movie is not really about the plot ... Read More:

This is by far the best film about football hooligans in my opinion. Although in a lot of parts you don't get to see the actual violence you know whats happening and its the power of the story that grips you. The charactors are really well developed and you feel like you know them by the end of the movie. I'd recommend this movie to anyone.

As Mitchell Gant, Clint helps the US smuggle a super-secret Russian fighter craft out of its hangar deep in the heart of Russia and fly it over to our side. Of course, it's not as easy as it sounds, what with Gant having recurring flashbacks to a harrowing experience in Vietnam (PLOT POINT - why did they have an obviously traumatized vet like Clint head up a sensitive assignment like this? Oh well....).

In fact, there are two stars to this one. Clint, of course, and that sleek, black dream machine of a MIG that he commandeers. The scene where the camera and Clint circle the plane is almost like a car commercial (all that's missing is Ricardo Montalban talking about its 'rich Corinthian leather' interior).

Other than the loving detail between the two leads, ... Read More:

Quite simply the worst piece of pseudo intellectual, directionless, celluloid effluent ever created. 110 Minutes of your life wasted. YOU have been warned!!!!!!!!!! 5 minutes after viewing the full abortion I have taken the offending DVD out into the garden, urinated on it and tossed it into the dustbin - not even worth the effort of re-cycling.

I love film, and I do love a guilty pleasure or two - but there is a distinct difference between rubbish and effluent.
