After Soprano's came to an end last year over here in blighty last year I was wondering would another series come along to give it a run for it's money.

I'm not sure what people think of David Chase's Mafia Epic but I can imagine cries of overrated being called out, I personally found utterly engrossing TV and simply sublime, I was somewhat sad to see it end but grateful Chase chose it to go out on high and yes I was perfectly happy with the opened ended abrupt ending to the final episode. Chase never was going to do conventional.

While I admit Showtime's Dexter started to fill that void, the 1st season was a great intro to the world of Miami's most interesting serial killer the 2nd season took the concept and ran with ... Read More:

With the 1st season setting the scene and introducing the characters the 2nd season does that rare thing of being even better, Though the story does still contains the continuing Barksdale story with Stringer Bell holding the reins as Avon alongside his nephew are incarcerated due the conclusions of the investigation in season 1. It is the new strand that drives the 2nd series even more. It introduces the tragic tale of the Sobotka's, a family of Batimore Dockers who's head Frank sometimes goes to not exactly legitimate methods to keep the money coming in but is a generous but compromised man. So when he rubs childhood adversary Deputy Commissioner Valchek up the wrong way with a incident that concerns amongst such things as Church stained glass window, ... Read More:

I love Sanaa Lathan and after watching Love and Basketball, Disappearing acts as well as Something New, my expectations were high. After 3 minutes I stopped the DVD to check that I had the right film because up until then, it comprised a bunch of hip hop artist (most of whom I have never heard of) boring me with their tales of what hip hop means to them.

After 20 minutes I realised that I did not like story, characters or the acting. Everything about it was lame. I found the story contrived as well as weak with no depth or meaning. The characters were monotonous, uninspiring and totally uninteresting. In my opinion, Lathan and Taye Digg's acting was weak and to me, there was no on-screen fizz or excitement between them. They did not make me want to care ... Read More:

You know when you're drunk and talking drivvle with your friends. You discuss subjects like the children's progammes you used to watch, school teachers you had, the best of some things and the worst of others. This film, which I saw many years ago, yet still haunts my memory is my answer to the question, "What's the worst film you've ever seen?" My answer is always, and I mean always, 'Waiting to exhale, with Whitney Houston'. That is three hours of my life that I want back. I rest my case.

DVD : It Could Happen To You [1994]
The actual story behind the highly fictionalized movie script could have made a really good movie. According to the urban legend website SNOPES, the real events involved a not-so-young waitress and a not-so-young police detective who together select the winning numbers to a $6 million jackpot. There was no hint of romance between the two. But that would be too open-ended for the cookie cutter mentalities behind this movie. They must have went into a conference room -- or a lunch room -- or a diner -- and derived this formulaic romance between two unhappily married people.

Their result was this plot bringing together a Prince Charming, a Cinderella, a the Wicked Witch of New York. But they forget to include a nice dramatic flow of events. I just didn't experience any peaks and very ... Read More:

The Second Season is a three disc set with seven episodes on each. It is a down to earth comedy series about love, life, romance and drama!
With a terrific cast Toni Childe (Jill Marie Jones),Joan(Tracee Ellis Ross),Maya (Golden Brooks), Lynne(Persia White)and William (Reggie Hayes).

This is hilarious with Joan turning 30 and the panic that that brings, Joan tries to go to therapy to say no to her best friend Toni, Yvonne and William's wedding that wasn't, Maya gets to chatting with Stan at work and Lynn moves in with William.
It's packed with loads of humour and drama, fashion and all for a good girlie night in. Would recommend
