For me, the movie itself is a nineties' classic: action, adventure and humour blended together seamlessly to provide a thoroughly enjoyable (if untaxing) two hour break from reality.

Unfortunately, this DVD release is WOEFUL. I could forgive the complete lack of extras (not even a trailer or production notes) but the picture looks like a poor transfer from VHS: it may be anamorphic, but it suffers from clear macro-blocking, colour shifts, artifacing and wholly excessive grain from the opening Warner Bros logo to the end credits. The entire disc takes up less than 3.5gb: given the complete lack of additional material, I find it perplexing that Warner Bros didn't at least use up the remaining free space to give the video a much-needed ... I just watched Blade Trinity again, and again it shows just how brilliant the first two films were. Wesley Snipes is perfect as Blade and both of the first films have some of the best fighting scenes in this type of film. Trinity, I'm afraid is a poor imitation of the first two. A shame but still five stars overall.

After just watching Matrix I was expecting another load of nonsense from this film. Another Sci-fi. However I was pleasantly suprised, and from that day on the original Blade has been and still is my all time fave film.

Wesley Snipes is simply brilliant in this, I've never seen a cooler character than Blade. From his cool sword moves to his funny sarcastic comments "You've met Mr Crispy at the Hospital, what do YOU think!".

In a way I think that Blade is slightly under-rated, however that's not necessarily a bad thing, who knows, if Blade had been more successful the sequels might not have been as good!

I've re-watched all Blade films to the point that I've learnt some russian sentences. And to anyone thinking of ... Read More:

Structurally, U.S. Marshals, is a reworking of the The Fugitive, fulfilling the classic sequel brief of "the same but different": the producers substitute an incredibly impressive plane crash for the incredibly impressive train crash, a fall from a tall building for a fall from a dam and government defense secrets for drugs trials while throwing in the same plot device of an ally who turns out to be an enemy. The main difference here is no Harrison Ford, more Tommy Lee Jones and added Wesley Snipes (presumably on the run from the taxman) and Robert Downey Jr. (who really should have kept the sunglasses on until he finished rehab). There are no surprises, it's somewhat overlong and you won't remember it a day later, but it's energetically directed by Stuart Baird and superbly ... Read More:

I bought this DVD on the strength of previous reviews. It is humourless, ponderous and without wit. Drag queens who never get out of drag are not funny; neither is the plot.

This special edition 2 disc set finally offers R2 DVD viewers the chance to see a very good widescreen (16:9) print of Abel Ferrara's deliciously over the top gangsta movie which features the usual screen-grabbing appearance by Christopher Walken as the outa jailbird on a mission to regain and enlarge his former NY territory and try and run for mayor at the same time. Wiping out all that stands before him in outrageous (and some over the top) shootouts and slayings, he incites the local NYPD to try and even the score, culminating in one of the classic cinema car chases. Early appearances by David Caruso and Wesley Snipes, amongst others, are also suitably manic. This is essentially a cult movie and the steelbook case of this release labels it as such. The second disc includes ... Read More:

White Men Can't Jump is a classic Basketball film. Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrellson are great in it as Sidney Deene and Billy Hoyle. There are so many jokes and funny bits in it as well as some good basketball action and non-basketball action. It is a classic film and even if you aren't a particularly big basketball fan, you are likely to enjoy it.
