Robocop is one of the finest action films of the 1980's.

Robocop 2 and Robocop 3 never live up to expectations and don't have the same dark atmosphere. They are worth owning and watching if you have nothing better to do..

I paid £7 for the box set so I am more than happy.

Robocop - 5 Stars
Robocop 2 - 2.5 Stars
Robocop 3 - 2 Stars

The set deserves 4 stars overall.

DVD : The Guyver [1991] (REGION 1) (NTSC)
The Guyver was released in Japan in 1989, but released by Manga Video in the UK in 1994. As you can see, Japan is five years ahead of us in everything they do. Especially 'cartoons.'

The Guyver is possibly one of the best sci-fi anime next to the likes of Akira, Ghost In The Shell, and (shutters)... DBZ. It also has a uniquely dark, embryonic atmosphere that alot of anime don't have... and is pretty scary if you're a kid and watching it. If you like cartoons and sci-fi, get it.

DVD : CB4 [1993] (REGION 1) (NTSC)
in a nutshell, CB4 is a laugh in the face of the 'gangster rap' scene of the 1990's. It could loosely be described as a spoof to the scene, but isn't as obvious as the airplane or naked gun films. the film stars an early Chris Rock who was coming straight from his success in New Jack City, who plays the films leading character Albert Brown. Along with his two 'homies', they are the most hopeless rappers that has emerged on the rap scene in LA and are desperate for the 'big break' to set off their career. Then one night they are showcasing in a club and meet the notorious rapper MC Gusto, which gives them the idea to relaunch themselves as 'gangster rappers'. Things take a turn for the best and they suddenly are catapulted to stardom, with serious consequences. From then on in, the film ... Read More:

When I picked this up for fifty pence from a seller on Amazon I wasnt expecting that much. Perhaps a nice little B-movie to while away a couple of hours.
Well, this exceeded my expectations quite a bit. First of all we have excellent performances from Arnold Vosloo and Jillian Mcwhirter as the couple who cannot explain the pregnancy, and are caught up in events way beyond their control. Theres also nice support from genre stalwart Brad Dourif as UFO expert Dr Clavell.
Secondly the film has a really creepy atmosphere especially during the abduction/impregnation scenes, and the film involves the viewer in the plight of the couple by continually adding little plot developments and theres also a nice little twist at the end of the film.
The DVD release is okay, the picture quality is not great, but ... Read More:

I think this is an underrated classic. A story of gold,double-cross,love,revenge and death all served up with great humour nicely by the main characters. The acting is great especially Forest Whittaker as the loser who eventually comes good. Robin Givens is superb and sexy in this role as she steals the gold from her partners and goes on the run. The late great Gregory Hines is also in top form as Whittaker's brother who is only interested in the gold at first. Badja Djola plays a memorably vicious villain and Danny Glover pops up as a rival gangster who "had another dream" about Givens - much to the fury of Djola. This film has some great comic moments. The music score by Elmer Bernstein is also superb.
