i recently bought the 2006 remake of "when a stranger calls" so i thought id give this ago.in the first 20 minutes the film told all of the remakes story & then proceeded to tell the story of the crazy man who ecapes from the institution and acts like a sad down & out for much of the film. you see that was the mystery, in the remake you only saw glimpses of him throughout @ the end . long & boring,sometimes remakes are not so pointless ! you decide...

I'm surprised to be the first reviewer for this title as, although a Dynasty fan, I much prefer the later season's to the early 80's episodes which take place before the show really found its (crazy) groove! This is officially the third season of Dynasty, but to fans its actually the second - Dynasty didn't become Dynasty until Alexis arrived and that only happended at the start of the second series. Season 3 see's the cast expanded from being mostly family (ie. Carrington) based to included many interlopers including Krystle's leetchy first husband Mark; the butlers daughter Kirby; the return of Sammy-Jo (yay!) and the arrival of evil Adam (boo!). Why is this title not available in the UK region 2 it is just a travesty, why do the US get all the great films and shows first, This has been available there for must be two years now. Please Amazon contact the distributors of this DVD and make them give UK fans a chance to own this, there is a market here for this product.

This movie has very little to do with WW2. The story is fiction and feel is very sixties. Michael Caine is having fun with his character but not enough to carry the entire movie. A big problem is the story which is complete fiction with no historic base other than yes the Commonwealth and Americans fought the Japanese in the Pacific but everything else is fabricated. So the story has more a Guns of Navarone approach to WW2 but the obvious difference is that Guns of Navarone is a hero movie where this is a anti hero movie. I like Guns of Navarone but not this film. Another thing to put you of - is special effects, when men are shot the bloodwork is terrible, like in an early Western.
