The starting point of the original series was that a structural engineer was going to break his death row brother out of prison by getting sent to prison himself and then using his tatoos, and his work helping the prison governor construct a matchstick model of the Taj Mahal, to tunnel out of a maximum security prison and get to Panama. Naturally, the brother was the victim of a vast conspiracy on the part of the shadowy forces controlling America, a conspiracy which boiled down to giving the vice president's brother a nice house and a set of false teeth.

So far, so not exactly cinema verite.

Some viewers have obviously felt that season 3 was stretching the plausibility of the story. This doesn't do justice to the wild ... Read More:

This will probably be the shortest Amazon review I've ever written because there really isn't much to say about this terrible movie, possibly the worst Hollywood film I've ever seen. Ludicrous plot, unsympathetic characters, awful script, dreadful 'jokes'... Don't waste two hours of your life watching it as you'll regret it. If you must watch films about meteors hitting the earth try Deep Impact.

OK, we've seen this type of movie before. The oppressive future governments ruling with violence and without remorse fighting against rebels wanting to be free. Equilibrium does this style of movie so much better. How? I hear you ask. With the help of Christian Bale. My review will be in three different stages. They are the story, the characters (or character) and the review which is just my opinion on the whole thing.

The Story: In the beginning of the 21st century, World War Three ravages the Earth and almost obliterates mankind. The few survivors realise that a fourth world war would mean the end of mankind once and for all. The world is taken over by "The Father" and his Tetragrammaton government. The father believes that the cause for WW3 ... Read More:

I enjoyed the first series far more than this but this was still top draw stuff from were the first series finished. I really didn't think it would work not being in a prison but it did it was edge of the seat right to the final scene. My only moan is they have killed off some of the more none actors which is a shame really I just hope series 3 brings in some good new ones. Overall well worth a view for me this is better than 24 and that is coming from a die hard 24 fan.

I'll never understand how films like this draw crowds like bees to honey. I find them to be trite, simplistic and, ultimately, insulting. The caliber of humor here suggests the average viewer is hopelessly high school - forever snapping bra straps & giggling at fart jokes. Haven't the majority of moviegoers evolved beyond this by now?

Give it six months and you won't even remember if you've seen it or not... it's that forgettable.

The story carries on with Michael Scofield and his fellow escapees on the run from the prison wardens, the police, the people who set Lincoln Burrows, and each other.

Trust is a commodity in short supply.

There is stacks of money, but where?

The story just gets better, with the plots not constricted to Fox River prison, you will not be able to predict what is going to happen next. Watch this now as the premiere series over taking 24, dammit, brilliant!

Bought this some time ago on DVD. If the movie is better on Blu-Ray; doesn`t matter. The story is REALY boring.
If you like war-movies where there is a lot of shooting, running, shouting and the story-line can be put into one word "war", then this is absolutely a movie FOR YOU. For those of us who enjoy a story, a plot and dont like a movie were the major parts of scenes are running, shooting, shouting and basically men trying to survive it is a movie to avoid. Despite good acting by some of the actors; stay away!
Just my opinion of course...

My brother warned me not to watch this film, so to annoy him I watched it with him. Overall it's well made with good acting and enjoyable. Theres a point in all films like this, that you start trying to guess whats going on. I started throwing suggestions at my brother with everyone came the reply "no it's not as good as that". This carried on untill the end when I could not believe what I saw. This film builds and builds only to ultimately dissapoint. I've warned you about the ending. If your at all cynical stay away, if pap is what your after lap some of this up.

Depending on your mood and expectations, you may have differing opinions about Heat.
My personal opinion of this movie is that it is like a strong coffee (albeit in a large mug) without milk or sugar. Why is that? This movie needed to be watched with patience and thought to handle the length.
Some of the relationship themes were unneccessary and the pacing of the story does drag from it. As a result, this movie drove the critics into a "Don't waste my mf time!" frenzy.
Most memorable scene was when De Niro's got that fatal phone call from Jon Voight.
Heat may have been awarded with 6 nominations, but that does not mean it's everyone cup of tea or coffee.

I think the only good thing in this film is Chris Rock. The storyline id good but poorly executed. Has absolutely dire acting (probably adam sandlers worst, and thats saying something!) Yeh it has some good bits, but they are completely ruled out because off the appaling acting!

I would say this is a worth a watch, but dont go out your way.
