Another lousy botch by Hollywood. It seems the creativity well has become so dry that film makers are ever increasingly snapping up classic movies from other cultures and failing miserably to comprehend what made them successful the first time around.

Cinematic arse gravy of the worst kind.

The film is very poor, easily the weakest in the series. It has a plot so thin it's translucent and rather than being seen as a film, it should be regarded as a rather meaningless sequence of quite ridiculous set-pieces and special effects. Dougray Scott proves here in this film once again that he quite simply cannot act, he merely leanrs words and delivers them and even Tom Cruise just doesn't seem interested. On the strength of this,if you're planning to make a ridiculous martial arts flick where story and performances just don't matter then John Woo is the director for you, otherwise please don't let this man near a film camera again!

As the story opens in a Maine lobster town, we meet young Matt Fowler, home from college for the summer, who has fallen in love with an older divorcee with two children. Although Matt says it's not serious, his parents are worried. And the woman's ex-husband is a violent man.

The title, "In the Bedroom," refers not to torrid love scenes but is slang for "lobster traps;" early on we learn that if two male lobsters are "in the bedroom" with a female, the males will tear each other apart. That's the plot, in a nutshell. Tom Wilkerson and Sissy Spacek play Matt's parents; he's good in a stiff-upper-lip way, but she didn't convince me she was a grieving mother at all. Nick Stahl is quite good as the young man in love and William Mapother ... Read More:

Steven Prefontaine 'Pre' was a US middle distance running legend like our Steve Coe, Ovett, and Cram rolled into one. He was coached at University by the great Bill Bowerman who went on to found Nike.

If you need an uplifting story to inspire you to get up off your couch, then watch this now. A great story of a 60s legend. Pre enjoyed many highs and endured some lows but he lived life to the full, and how many of us can say that. Anybody can run but not all are destined for greatness.

Get your adrenaline pumping!

I should have been more skeptical. The zodiac, on DVD, at Woolworths, for £4.97, when the film is still on release at the cinema? Of course it isn't the same film. The production values are good enough to make you think that it nonetheless might be, but a few things didn't quite hang together (careful - there are some sort-of-spoilers in here):

* The cheesy incidental music, which sounded like it came straight from the William Peter Blatty school for freaky music;
* The rather conventional editing and shooting style. Not entirely conventional - The Zodiac kind of hints at Se7en stylings, but in a drastically scaled back fashion, rather like a TV Movie trying to "do" Se7en. (Obviously, the directors weren't to know that David Fincher would subsequently ... Read More:

In the 60's a show called mission impossible was first aired 30 years later it became a movie.This boxset contains 1+2 (with 3 curently in production)for the price of 1, though there is no difference to the single releases other than the box.
mission impossible 1 is the best it keeps you guessing until the end & will have you gripped every step of the way & at some points you will gasp at the revalations. Highly enjoyable flick with no extras.

Mission impossible 2 is no where near as good as the original but still provides you with a good nights entertainment, though the director's use of slow-mo can get annoying.This time there's extras (yeah) with commentaries,alternate titles,making of,stunts & the mission improbable spoof.
