What was oddly supposed to be a sequel to Dolph Lungren's Masters of the Universe, Cyborg bares no relation to He-Man, Skeletor and Co. and is a strange mix of sci-fi, martial arts, and chase movie. The film is set in a desolate wasteland of the future where bandits travel the land rampaging and killing. Scientists are close to finding a cure for the disease which has almost wiped out every human. Nady Simmons holds the key and she must get to the scientists at Atlanta if there is to be any hope. However, a maniacal group of warriors is after her. She enlists the help of a strong drifter who happens to be a martial arts expert- Gibson, and who has motives of his own for helping her. For ... Sadly a waste of money and time. Segal delivers another dud. As previous reviewers have stated the cast was very good but the story line repetitive and boring. The very beautiful blond eye candy present did little to raise the level of this in action thriller! Sorry Steve not thrilled at all!

Good Sword & Sorcery action film, set in Dark Age/Medieval times (as opposed to Conan/Lord Of The Rings pre-history) with an overt fantasy edge.
It's successful in overcoming it's budgetary limitations, with plenty of action, decent sets/costumes etc and inventive visual FX. There's quite a high gore content here with grisly plague victims, heads cleaved in half, and hearts magically torn out! A very good villain too with the demonic, Sorcerer of the title (Great Make Up FX). The fight choreography is reasonable too with an impressive final sword fight ( incl. a three bladed mystical sword that can actually propel the blades, in missile fashion!)
The film has more of an Indiana Jones feel, than the intensity of Conan The Barbarian or Excalibur. It actually ... Read More:

I fully expected to find this film directed by Alan Smithee or some such pseudonym. However, the director Albert Pyun has such credits as 'Brainsmasher: A Love Story' and 'Alien from L.A.' on his curriculum vitae, so (despite the almost-tolerable film such as 'Cyborg') I thought I might have stumbled upon the reincarnation of Ed Wood. However, I know 'Plan 9 from Outer Space'; I've seen 'Plan 9 from Outer Space'. This film is no 'Plan 9 from Outer Space'.

This is one of those low-budget, martial arts films designed to capitalise on the success of earlier glories. There was a successful film, entitled 'Kickboxer', which starred Jean-Claude van Damme (and not directed by Pyun). Van Damme steered clear of the sequels to make other films (not all successful; his film 'Coyote ... Read More:

I had this on VHS for years and it got plenty of play. Sure it'll never be the greatest movie of all time but you know what, it does exactly what it says on the tin.

Its a bit hammy in places and some of the effects look horribly old (Harryhausen eat your heart out!) but bottom line - I have a big soft spot for Nemesis and so have many of the people ive shown it too.

I wouldnt recommend coughing up more than 15 quid for the DVD but if you have a passing cyberpunk interest (Hell, if you liked Syndicate the game, there more than a few references or perhaps nods - what came first?) then Ollie and his auto-pump action shotgun (cool as ever) will entertain...... f*cking humans...

I saw this movie once when I was about 15, this was when the movie had 1st come out. I saw it again a couple of years ago and I must say it was crap then and its crap now. The acting is terrible and the story is point less. Anyways my advice to you is do not buy this movie unless u want to see some pathetic acting or you want somethin to laugh at. But I warn you, even if u just buy it to laugh at, its so crap its not even funny.

I own all 5 Kickboxer movies and this is the one smack in the middle. With Kurt Sloane (Van Damme) killed by the evil Tong Po, David (Sasha Mitchell) remains the last of the Sloane's left.

In this movie we get a Rocky V style story, leading to David verses Tong Po (Michel Qissi). The good thing is at least the REAL Tong Po is in this one (unlike 4). He appears more sadistic and dangerous than in his first appearance, however Sasha's fight skills don't look nearly as impressive as Qissi or Van Damme but look more Kickboxing than Van Damme's did.

Overall the movie delivers a better story than the first, however there is ALOT less fighting and the movie seems to go really slowly, due to it being like 70 mins before David even trains for 5 minutes and Tong Po even appear.. ... Read More:

This surprisingly stunning movie was really just something I rented, because I had seen everything else. I needed to watch a good movie, and not the commercial junk with overated computer graphics. Then I saw this one. They only had one copy of this movie in the store, so I thought that this would have to be a low-budget movie. "Why the heck not" I said to myself, and picked it up.
I've never regreted that choice in all my life.

What struck me, was an action movie with a poetic heart. In all the excellent shooting, there is an "in between the lines" essence of the beauty of life, portrayed differently in the many characters in the movie. Good acting by some, great acting by most. Ice-T does a good job playing the "bad guy", and I'm tempted to say that this is one of Christopher ... Read More:
