I'll start of by saying that I'm a fantasy/sci-fi and action fan, I'm not entirely sure why I picked this film but it was listed on my recommendations so I thought I'd have a look and read the reviews. After just watching it I'll say I'm glad I did.
The acting is great, especially considering most of the cast are children. It has a simple yet effective story line and every bodies roles was thought out and executed wonderfully.

I won't say any more about it but I will recommend you watch it at least once.

This is how films should be.

Another Harry Potter film and just like the first 2 films this is an enjoyable film whilst being nothing special. In fact this is a little better than the its two prequels which is a reason I enjoyed it more. The story is getting darker, the young actors are getting better and this movie sucked me in more than the other two did. However, I have given it 3/5 just like I did for the other films although I was tempted to give it 4 instead. I have never read the books, so Im not one of these that bores people by saying "its not as good as the book". Enjoy it for what it is .... an enjoyable childrens films that you can happly watch with your kids.

I have enjoyed the Harry Potter series. And hope to see them continue the movies. This was a fun movie to watch. But I was surprised that it was so short. This is also the darkest movie yet. As would be expected from director Cuaron. Though they do stick close to the plot of the book.

The movie starts off with Harry at home with the Dursley's. And as usual they are making his life miserable...but we see that Harry is not only older, but has some power. For his uncle seems a little scared of him. But they still manage to get him to run away from home. He takes a ride on a triple-decker bus for wayward wizards; and we follow for a ride of our lives. Harry soon learns that Sirus Black has escaped from prison and is coming to kill him. The ... Read More:

This is a great film. I'm kind of new to foreign language film but really enjoyed this. I think every teenager needs to watch this.

How convenient this box set was brought out just as Order Of The Phoenix hits the cinemas, so that all who have not seen the first 4 years can be brought up to speed.
No one will argue that the films even match the books, they don't. The best example is Goblet Of Fire, which falls so far short of the promise of the novel. You have the change of Dumbledore in film 3, from Richard Harris (R.I.P, the true Dumbledore) to his forgetable replacement, a singular piece of bad casting, and the almost inexpressibly bad acting displayed by Radcliffe. Honestly, watch the 1st film, truly cringe worthy. In my humble opinion they should have awaited the release of all 7 films before releasing a box set, but we should be used to this sort of cash in by now.
Of course, ... Read More:

To say that 'the essence of Dickens is perfectly rendered' (as claimed by one reviewer) in this dumbed-down monstrosity is an insult to the intelligence of anyone who has read the original. Everything that made the original story great, including the plot twists, is stripped out, leaving a withered husk of the story, and creating (using the term loosely) a basic, rather tedious love story. I was actually left angry after watching this. It is sad that society has degraded to the level of intelligence that is the target audience of what can only be described as a hate crime against Dickens.

Having heard how good this film was, I decided to watch it. I have to say it was dissappointing compared to other highly rated foreign films. In fact, I can't see anything to recommend it. The sheer sordidness of it left me feeling dirty. I kept expecting something interesting to happen, but no. Now that I think of it, the person who recommended it to me was not the kind of person I would have thought would appreciate a good film anyway.
