I think, like most British viewers, I did not catch the Seinfeld craze until long after they finished showing in the States. As a result, all that I had ever seen before I started watching the DVDs was Season 9, which is an excellent and very funny collection of episodes. I've been getting the Seinfeld DVDs as they have been released, basically watching the episodes for the first time. Seinfeld changes as the seasons go on, and, from the perspective of someone who has only seen up to season 6, and as a result of this box set, I must say that it gets worse and not better. Sorry, but I bought this on the basis of the other reviews and I really can't see what they see in it. The script is really plastic, the acting stiled, the filming is reminiscent of poor quality home movies. And as far as I am concerned, this is just so unfunny it is tedious!

This is where the sophisticated series gets started. It isn't quite at its best by this point, but the material is very funny indeed. Strongly recommended.

After such an astounding season of seinfeld with regards to season 5 the pressure was on season 6,to be fair i thought the show could cope with such a challenge,sadly i was let down. The series found a way of looking average for the first time,not every episode of course,far from it but the first disc contained some poor episodes and the introduction of Mr.Pitt as elaines boss was a poor decision as he is a terrible actor and his character is beyond annoying,too eccentric and just badly used. The four main characters all do well as one would expect and george is better than ever in just being george,clueless and neurotic and incapable of letting things that bother him pass. I have this 'gift set' and the puffy shirt is in a cheap plastic display case and looks pretty ridiculous. I've already thrown mine away to make room for a better looking book-end. Series 5 & 6 are a five star item...two stars are deducted for the fact they are charging £10 for a useless 'gift set'.
