Whilst this was never in contention for any oscars, it's a better film than is often made out. For a start, it ignores Highlander 2. It is decently made, with decent action, stunts & visual FX. Mario Van Peebles makes for an excellent villain as immortal Kane, and there is plenty of sword fighting. The plot is pacey too. The movie is NOT uncut. I saw this at the cinema in 1994, and was amazed at how explicit a sex scene was! The strongest I had seen in a mainstream movie, alongside 1982's Xtro. Folks, it is CUT here, sorry, but the rest of the film is solid fantasy action, with the nonsensical sci fi elements of Highlander 2 firmly jettisoned! Entire Michael Jackson concerts are rare on DVD, so I was naturally extremely excited when I found this was available, and watched it straight away. I'm going to be very honest; as a huge Michael Jackson fan this does not at all compare to the music on his CDs. For no doubt the richest man in pop it's all surprisingly cheap and unglamorous, and there are several points that you question why this was released at all. However, this paints only half of the picture - there are some very good points and it needs to be explained in greater detail in order to understand fully whether this is worth buying or not.
