didnt expect this movie to be so good , watched it three times in four days , effects brilliant, blue ray fantastic .

Stunning movie - easily the best American urban/police thriller I've seen to date! VERY stylish and often brutal, this hooks from start to finish. It's not action packed, rather delivering thrills in short, sharp bursts. It's very atmospheric with an incredible central performance from Denzel Washington as antihero/villain, Detective Alonzo Harris, and strong support from Ethan Hawke as rookie officer, Jake Hoyt. Look out for small roles from the likes of Snoop Dogg & Dr Dre, in this unflinching portrayal of the very mean streets of LA. Also, Scott Glen, Cliff Curtis & Tom Berenger. After 4 years i finally watched this DVD right through, out of curiosity more then anything else. I admit the battle scenes were actually authentic, though perhaps a little OTT with the blood sometimes, although that was what warfare was like back then. They wanted to make a gritty and unromantic portrayal of the era and the filmmakers have succeded in doing that. However i detected a faint whiff of liberalistic revisionism. I thought Arthur was supposed to be a christian hero, not some wishy washy pelagian. The roles and character of the historical figures of bishops pelagius and germannus seem to have been completely inverted. i chose this as my free title when i purchased the samsung blu-ray player, but admit i was a bit sceptical of whether it would be any better viewed this way. i had seen the film before, so was able to compare it to that experience. well i was very impressed, the colours were much more vibrant and the detail was fantastic. as for the film well i enjoyed that too. there was none of this shooting from the waist and gettin a headhot shot rubbish. it looked very professional, though i am sure some armed forces members would disagree. the movie (storyline ect.) i give 10/10 picture/sound Quality i give 10/10 a worth while purchase.

OK so it may not be an Oscar winner but this film is a refreshing look at the myth and mystery of King Arthur based more on history than legend. This is a more believable story than other attempts and is based on the most likely individual from history to spawn the Arthur legend. So what if the acting and dialogue is a bit off at times. My guess is that soldiers and knights of the time were not great linguists or extremely well educated so in a way it adds to the realism. Clive Owen does well as Arthur, and in the end is a better choice than a Hollywood A-lister as he helps bring focus to a plausible alternative to sword and sorcery epics of the past. The original ending is a bit "fairytale" but thankfully the editors cut version is more fitting for those who prefer their final battles ... Read More:

This is usual action thriller with guns , explotions and a semi-decent plot. Mark Wahlberg plays an elite unit sniper who becomes involved in a conspiracy and has to work his way out and solve some issues about his personal past. The plot is really similar to Enemy of the state and perhaps the acting is not as good ,Danny Glover's character is painful to watch. The action scenes are good from the beggining to the end and shooting technique is top class ( bad boys 2 style ). Good for rental

Wow, this movie just blew me away !!! I am a fan of the John Woo type of action movies and I must say that even he was just one of the executive producers, his mark is all over this movie!!! The result is very good : Nicely paced action sequences, more story and emotions than in your average Hong Kong action movie (But not as much story development as in an American production, but in this genre this just isn't needed that much, it would just slow down the pace), well acted , you kinda start feeling sympathetic for the leads and you'll certainly hate these villains. This is a thrill ride from beginning till the end. And this is where I have my only point of criticism : The movie is way to short !!! 80 minutes and the credits start to roll!!!
