I am a fan of most of the Pixar films but have to say that I found this one to be slightly disappointing. It is brilliantly animated,Paris looks glorious and it is well voiced. For some reason though,'Ratatouille' just didn't hold my attention and it isn't a film that I would watch again.
The highlight comes from the voice of Peter O' Toole as Anton Ego.He clearly has a ball as the arrogant food critic and all of the scenes he features in are a delight. On the whole I did feel that this isn't in the same league as 'Toy Story 1 & 2' or 'A Bug's Life'.A fair effort but not Pixar's best.

I watched The Incredibles with my 4 year old son this afternoon. This was the second attmept at watching it after we had to switch it off some months before because the film became too intense for him. He wanted to watch it again ("All the way through this time!") and so we settled down, turned down the lights and amped up the 5.1 surround sound.
The first ten minutes had me laughing at Mr Incredible's attempts to do his duty as a superhero whilst aiming to attend what is obviously a very important function on time.
This sequence is hectic, exciting and fun. The film then slows down somewhat, and I thought my son might begin to fidget and become bored, but he didn't and the film soon livened up again.
Some later sequences are genuinely ... Read More:

I am major fan of the Disney Pixar movies and always eagerly await the next one. I do like this film but personally I don't find it as funny as movies like Toy Story 1 & 2 and The Incredibles. Having said that there are some great characters in this film and being an animal lover I think all the rats are adorable. Overall though I would give the film itself 4 out of 5. As this is a 2 disc special with the animated shorts on, the overall package is definately a 5 out of 5. I would definately recommend getting this package as the shorts are great to watch. Some you will have already seen before but most you probably won't. I especially liked the alien abduction short, I almost wet myself laughing at that one. I would definately recommend this 2 disc special to ... Read More:

Please note that this review contains spoilers.

The Iron Giant is a film that is almost totally unique in the history of contemporary animation. It is a provoking and poignant story that is exciting without being brainless and thoughtful without being condescending.

I won't go into the particulars of the story itself since that is probably summarised by Amazon and most other reviewers. Instead I will say that this film has a particular gift which is to teach children by treating them as adults and to entertain adults in a child-like way. It is moving and funny and entertaining; never straying too far from the habits of its characters in order to thrust a moral lesson home, nor suspending story for the sake of a joke and, perhaps most importantly, ... I'll keep this as short as possible.
I remember around 7 years ago, I watched this for the first time. I was quite young and I was absolutely mesmerized by it. Today, I had a craving to watch it again for the first time in 7 years. I dug out the old dusty VHS from the attic and played it. After watching it once again, I was completely blown away. The animation has not a aged a bit and the story is as touching as ever.

Don't pass the chance up to watch this classic. A legendary film that I shall remember for the rest of my life.

This is a great box set and a valuable addition to anyone's dvd collection. the only downfall is that Monsters Inc. isn't in wide-screen format, but still a great movie.

A Bug's Life is a double sided dvd with two formats on each side, either wide-screen or standard tv (4x3). The movie is not split over the two sides like other reviewers claim and there is no need to flip it over just to clarify.

I would have like Toy Story to be included but since it has it's own box set and Toy Story 3 is due in the future I'll wait.
