I remember 2007 has been the year of the three-quel's, and at long last--after the ambitious excess of "Spiderman 3," the lackluster of "Shrek the Third," the love-it-or-hate-it logic to the "Pirates" finale, the return to glossy form of "Ocean's 13," and the tense, engaging "Bourne Ultimatum" (which gave a great ultimatum to its own franchise)--we come to its end with the fun, campy adrenaline-rush of Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker re-teaming for "Rush Hour 3." At the end of watching this I though it was okay but I felt a bit sad that it had to come to an end like this because I enjoy the first two very much.

Jackie Chan (Lee) acts well as usual (have some problem for pronouncing things but I didn't mind that) and Chris Tucker is still ... Read More:

This is an entertaining enough effort, but cashes in too strongly on The Silence of the Lambs. Hopkins is good as usual, and Edward Norton is particularly good, but the rest feels a little contrived. Not enough of this gels, and it doesn't have the same unsettling vibe as "Manhunter."

Still worth seeing for some good bits, though.

The third act of this tragedy or drama is this time bringing the fight within the mutant community. The President of the USA, with his Secretary to Mutant Affairs who is not even informed, let alone associated, to the President's decisions on such a matter, has paid for the invention or devising of a special genetic vaccine to "cure" the mutants of their mutant-ness. This gives the opportunity to the bad mutants to gather some groups and even crowds and to start some terrorist action against this cure in the name that mutant-ness is not a disease. The final battle in order to destroy the research center that devised the "cure" and the scientist who is behind the discovery is spectacular with a bridge rotated in order to tie up San Francisco to Alcatraz by way ... Although a lot of critics will smash this movie claiming things such as, it raises more questions than it answers and the characters weren't kept true to the original comics. With these criticisms this is simply a film that has to be taken lightly by all, including the dedicated comic book fans. The story is presented easily to the viewers, some true X-Men comic fans will know of the Phoenix saga already, but to those who haven't read the comics, the whole notion of the Phoenix is explained and made quite simple to follow.
A "cure" has been found to destroy the mutant gene and it throws the mutant world into turmoil as they are split between those who welcome the cure and those who find it as an insult. Jean Gray is found alive after the events of X2 but it has released ... Read More:

I found this film highly enjoyable and I recommend it. Some have said that this franchise went downhill when Brian Singer left, but I would much rather watch this than have to sit through Superman Returns again.

From the first scene to the final cut this is a really by the numbers thriller but does not suffer at all it is fun good fun lots of scenery and just all round enjoyable. Dont need to think too hard and there are some pretty pointless scenes involving a shark and suntan lotion. The cast are all great although I feel that Don Cheadle was rather short changed. Not really worthy of a big screen outing but a great dvd release.

James Carter comes to Hong Kong for a holiday with Inspector Lee. However at the same time a bomber is striking key American targets. Carter and Lee get drawn into an investigation into a counterfeiting ring run by Ricky Tan and his new partner Hu Li. Before long their up to their necks in trouble again.

The story doesn't matter because basically it's this - Carter talks funny to somebody while Lee is distracted, it then all kicks off and Lee does lots of fancy moves, it then moves to a different location and the pattern repeats again. Essentially that's it - but it doesn't matter, it worked the first time and it works again here. The story is better than the first film's, although the twists don't work as well as they think they do.

The main improvement since ... Read More:
