I was a latecomer to 'House' but better late than never.

Hugh Laurie plays the miserable yet brilliant Dr. House with some style. You almost forget he is a Brit.

I have watched many hospital dramas - ER, St Elsewhere, Casualty, etc, as there is something uniquely engaging about the medical environment. Those series have been mainly dramas while House is something else. It's a part drama, part sit-com and part geeky medical show.

The basic premise involves patients being admitted to Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital with very mixed symptoms that complicate the medical diagnoses. House uses his talented young medical team to treat the symptoms but the patients usually take a turn for the worse upon ... Read More:

I would give this 4 1/2 stars if i could.

I agree it is not as good as the others, because (as has been mentioned) most of the characters are not as strong as previous seasons.

This storyline also contains the most implausable, ridiculous plotline of all the seasons. 24 has always had plotlines which borderline on unbelievable but we let them off because the show is that good. I think we should also let them off here too because the season is great, however there is just too much "oh come off it!!" about this one storyline that you never really forget how silly this is.

So we have weaker characters (still strong nevertheless) and an unbelievable plot aspect but apart from that we have a classic 24 with terrific episodes ... Read More:

For some reason this is probably my least favourite season but nevertheless it is still absolutely fantastic. There are some epic moments and episodes here that i would consider my absolute favourites but something just relegates it below the others, i don't know what it is, maybe the bad guy isn't up scratch, either way saying this is my least favourite is hardly an insult.

Top stuff and Jacks rawest ever moment is in this series.

24 came back and this time we have a bigger threat, a bigger bad guy and even bigger episodes.

I love this season, i always get extra excited when i put the first disc in. The writers always think of fantastic new moments to put in their series and this has loads.

As usual you need to overlook the fact that all the big events happen in the hour and that everywhere is within 10 minutes of everywhere but look past that and you will have an amazing time.

If you thought that 3 was not as good as the first two then rest assured that this definately is.

Watched the first disc of the first season last night and CRIKEY! What a pile of of old rubbish this show is. A kind of soapy teen sci-fi with the worst of both worlds. I.e, poor script, poor characters and pathetically poor action scenes. Worst is seeing the Alba girl trying to rip off the Faith character from Buffy and dying painfully in the process.

Awful to the point of funny. Axed after its 2nd season not without good reason.

Avoid if you're over 13...

This was one of the best shows on tv at the time mainly due to ms alba. The first season was better but the second was nowhere near as bad some people think and it wasn`t cancelled just because it didn`t get the viewers apparently it`s viewing figures were pretty good, it was cancelled mainly because they wanted the slot for america`s next top model and the two main stars then went on to do other things, in jessica`s case become a big star in hollywood. As for ms alba`s acting, i`ve always thought she is a good actress, james cameron thought she was since she was the only one he wanted for the role. I was really hoping that a film version of dark angel would be made to tie up loose ends. if you like beautiful girls and action then this is the boxset for you.

Any true Power Ranger fan has seen both Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers The Movie and Turbo: A Power Rangers movie, but finally the long anticipated DVD duo of both Morphin' and Turbo has arrived. Both long available on VHS, the DVD version is a welcome arrival, both for the fact that picture and sound are vastly greater and also because both films come together for the price of one. A great value buy and worth buying for the archives even if you already own both films already.

The first film, the only big budget hollywood Power Rangers production, sees the Morphin' Rangers Tommy, Kim, Billy and new recruits Rocky, Aisha and Adam go face to face with an old nemesis of their mentor Zordon. Ivan Ooze is truly one of the greatest enemies they have ever faced, managing to destroy the Command Center within ... Read More:

DVD : Day Break: The Complete Series (REGION 1) (NTSC)
Perhaps the concept of a day repeating over and over again until the hero finally gets it right may echo the Bill Murray comedy "Groundhog Day," and the elaborately constructed conspiracy narrative may be derivative from dozens of paranoid thrillers we have seen many times over, but "Day Break" somehow takes these two disparate ideas and smashes them together to fashion a 13 part science-fiction thriller/murder mystery. The result is never less than enthralling.

Taye Diggs earns his TV show stripes in the lead role of Detective Brett Hopper, evoking the confusion, vulnerability and macho posturing man of action theatrics the part very much demands of him. His arena is that of Los Angeles, and the events of this tumultuous day play out with different outcomes and with different consequences every time ... Read More:

DVD : For Richer or Poorer [1997] (REGION 1) (NTSC)
This story is about a high flying successful couple whose marriage is on the rocks and only their material possessions and money seems to be holding them together. A sudden downturn on their finances sees them trying to escape the IRS (inland revenue in the UK)and they end up posing as Amish cousins in a remote Amish community. What follows are some very funny and very touching moments as Tim and Kirsty try to 'fit' in with the Amish way of life. It is not long before the simple ways get under their skin and they find joy in the simplest of pleasures. It is a very funny movie but with a feelgood factor ending which I haven't seen since "Wonderful Life". Not released in the uk yet but was available for rental on Video a few years ago. Very, very good family entertainment. I could watch it again and again.
