This is a great boxset and is amazing value for money. Its action packed and hilarious and had me and my sister entertained for hours. It has three complete season and great special features including a hilarious gag real. Great buy.

Insp.North (Kate Buffery) was a totally credible charactrer as a police officer just like Jane Tennison. Unfortunately her replacement, Victoria Smurfit is quite beyond belief. She has no credibility whatsoever as a polce officer (in episodes 7 and above). She spoils an outstanding series - Don't bother with the more recent short episodes..

I can always remember watching this series on tv first time round and being totaly gripped every week. It was the highlight of the week. Now that all 3 series are in one box set i can't wait for mine to arrive tomorrow I can't remember much about the third series 'gold' but the first 2 are great. The second being crazy compaired with the 1st. Great acting from all 5 main women in this and the stepping stone for samantha morton to greater things.(well not greater maybe bigger)

Will it be in high definition? Unless it's a error on Amazon's part, to me one disc does not seem adequate for a complete season; shortened as it was due to the writer's strike. If true it sounds that this will really be a standard definition release with all the episodes put on one compact blu-ray disc. After all the, UK releases of the dvd boxsets were inferior to the those in the US (in regards to extras). The american blu-ray release on the Amazon US will apparantly be three discs - which sounds about right. Proceed with caution.

As in so many adaptations of stories set some way in the past and some way west of the M25 (e.g the recent TV version of Lark Rise), parts of this are filmed through rose-tinted filters, but the spirit of the book comes through well. One minor annoyance is the insertion of a trip to London by Laurie's mother in search of her errant husband. This episode may have happened - if so, it's not well known - but it is not mentioned in the book. In contrast to this slightly intrusive addition, the ending uses the medium of film very imaginatively to portray the key event which opens the sequel to this story. I became addicted to Lynda LaPlante after watching Prime Suspect for years! I started buying her books, recently, and was pleased when - after a friend sent me a universal DVD player - that I could see COMMANDER stateside. However, I found it plodding, compared to PRIME SUSPECT and found The Commander's character so maddeningly full of holes, I simply couldn't take it seriously. The killed was so transparently sociopathic, I just couldn't SEE how any powerful woman could have been fooled by him. And the more it seemed she tried to dig herself OUT of the hole she was in, after that ludicrous entrapment scene, the deeper I felt she dug it. Here we have the Swiss Family Robinson, filmed partly in the paradise images of Thailand, and given an entertaining new twist. There are some very good performers, but one to watch is Charlie Lucas who plays the young Jacob Robinson. He is separated from his family and falls in with pirates. Charlie might just be recognised from his part in Tea With Mussolini, or the BT adverts with ET. All the cast compliment each other well. The setting is amazing and the storyline will keep you watching.

Supernatural Season 1 was excellent. Season 2 was good, but dumbed down for the teenage rarther than adult audience. As a result alot of U.S viewers were lost on airing and the show was nearly cancelled. But here in Season 3 it is excellent again. But a warning about the NTSC box set. I ordered mine(NEW) through Amazon.co.uk, from a well known established U.S Florida based seller. It arrived in a horrific condition. It had obviously left the Warner Bros factory like this.! The 6 fold out dvd cases were smashed to bits. Not just the centers but the whole thing. The cardboard cover ripped and bent. And last of all, the dvd discs offered a selection of about 10 different language subtitles. But would only play with a subtitle on, not without any. There is ... Read More:
