This movie is an unimaginative, disjointed, incomprehensible waste of time. Very poorly edited, it's a real botched version of Pullman's story which is itself far, far less 'special' than most Amazon reviewers would have you believe. If my child was entertained by this dross, I'd be concerned! I'm just glad I didn't pay to see it.

For those of us who have enjoyed having Clue playing in our kitchens and on the car radio for the best part of 35 years, this DVD of the live tour of shows is a gem. For many it will be an opportunity to watch Humph in one of his last public appearances and his comic genious burns as brightly as ever. The team give great support as does Colin Sell on the piano. The final moments, given over to a beautful trumpet solo by Humph as the show closes brought a tear to me eye, and I stood up and joined the audience in their ovation. One of the classic radio comedy shows loses nothing in the transfer to DVD format, it has already become a cherished item in my comedy collection. I also recommend the new CD of the tribite show to Humph broadcast on the ... Read More:

A masterpiece of TV. The acting is incredible from the lead right through to the smallest extra. In the best tradition of good TV we laughed out loud, cringed with shame and cried with sadness. What is most interesting about this fantastic show is that the obvious characters (Ja'mie and Mr G), although brilliant, will not affect you in the same way as Jonah - a brilliant study in not fitting in. A comedy that made me think...excellent.

I suppose Im in the minority group who hated this film. Seriosly this is very dull and boring. Nothing seemed to happen in it whatsoever. As for Renee Zellwegger, you would have thought her to have been great in it after seeing her in Bridget Jones wouldnt you? Wrong. She does nothing for this film at all. She couldnt carry it through, her acting was all wierd. But I had to sit through and watch this rubbish with my family, who surprisingly all liked it and praised Renee Zellwegger for her fantastic performance. I was like what the hell are u talking about?? Anyway, I have since given this DVD away to my friend who liked it but then she loves Rene Zellewgger, so that kept her happy!

Since its release I have heard and read mixed reviews mostly bad, these of course are from fans pissed off at the end of season 9! "The Truth" wasnt a very good or satisfying end to the series, as a hardcore fan I can certainly say. I suppose what people expected was something pretty damn spectacular here with this movie. We should expect that its the X Files for Peets sake. But many of the really cool episodes were written by writers other than Chris Carter, in fact I think you will find if you revise all your Box sets that the episodes written By Carter are the most lame. Kim Manners is working on Supernatural, Spotnitz is mostly on bigger movies while the rest are all over the board from CSI, Bones, the short lived 4400 right up to the new series of Fringe. ... Never read the books so I came with an open mind when watching this film. Like the book, the film is for children but can be enjoyed by adults.

Unfortuneatly this came out at the same time as the excellent 'Lord of the Rings' and it cant really compare with Tolkiens classic (same with the books really) but you can enjoy it on its own merit, especially if you havnt bother reading the novel first. If you have, then it could be an up hill struggle. However, the acting and the characters are enjoyable and the whole movie leaves you interested enough to watch the follow-up movies.

This is certainly a better film than some other recent fantasy films like Narnia, The Golden Compass, The Seeker (Dark is rising) and the truely terrible Eragorn.

As my title suggests I'm in two minds about this film, if you consider the pacing, narrative, special effects and the overall purpose of the film, it isn't very good but I do appreciate its themes and the cinematography and the overall atmosphere that is created.

Carter never liked to do what was expected of him, he tended to follow his own intuitions and it worked for the series making them fresh, interesting and utterly compelling, allowing them to run for so long and have such a devoted fan base. I'm one of those fans, I love the series and appreciated where it was left in the last episode; the date was set, the invasion inevitable, the FBI was overrun with alien agents and our two heroes were on the run. The series was driven by more than just Scully's ... Read More:

The animation is incredible: the facial expressions, the body movement, the play of light, the attention to detail takes your breath away. Add to this a superb soundtrack, and you realise why it got such good critical reviews.

It is a traditional story, but has been told without so much of that awful syrup and candy so beloved by Disney and, I regret to say, Pixar. The mock 'reality program' slant was inspirational, as was the cutting forward to dialogue that explained events in the past. Sorry folks, you have to pay attention to this film. You are not spoon fed the story like Disney and Pixar do. You require some brains to follow the story line.

As for the negative comments on the film's dialogue and 'commentaries', come on man, ever heard of ... Read More:

I have not felt the need to review an amazon item before, but I'm choosing the West Wing to break my duck.

The West Wing is the best thing on television by some distance. It can be extremely funny, but it handles pathos better than any show I have seen. The acting is consistently superb and the fast-paced intelligent script writing is what makes the show so unique.

I cannot recommend it highly enough.
