Since its release I have heard and read mixed reviews mostly bad, these of course are from fans pissed off at the end of season 9! "The Truth" wasnt a very good or satisfying end to the series, as a hardcore fan I can certainly say. I suppose what people expected was something pretty damn spectacular here with this movie. We should expect that its the X Files for Peets sake. But many of the really cool episodes were written by writers other than Chris Carter, in fact I think you will find if you revise all your Box sets that the episodes written By Carter are the most lame. Kim Manners is working on Supernatural, Spotnitz is mostly on bigger movies while the rest are all over the board from CSI, Bones, the short lived 4400 right up to the new ... Read More:

As my title suggests I'm in two minds about this film, if you consider the pacing, narrative, special effects and the overall purpose of the film, it isn't very good but I do appreciate its themes and the cinematography and the overall atmosphere that is created.

Carter never liked to do what was expected of him, he tended to follow his own intuitions and it worked for the series making them fresh, interesting and utterly compelling, allowing them to run for so long and have such a devoted fan base. I'm one of those fans, I love the series and appreciated where it was left in the last episode; the date was set, the invasion inevitable, the FBI was overrun with alien agents and our two heroes were on the run. The series was driven by more than ... Read More:

If you haven't seen this yet then I suggest you watch it, as it is very good. Don't listen to the critics who have said this is crap because it isn't. And it doesn't matter if you haven't seen all the seasons of 'The X-Files', as it stands well as a movie on it's own. Obviously there are some elements that reflect back to the series but that's more of an addded bonus to the X-Files fans.

One of the main things I liked about this movie was the way the writers have decided to go more into Mulder and Scully's relationship which they didn't really bother with too much in the last film. I also liked the fact that it stayed very true to the tone of the TV show and is just as intense as a lot of the episodes were.

This has been slated by some reviewers and each is entitled to their opinion. Mine is that this is a worthwhile addition to the X Files, no better than the best and no worse than the worst.

The series itself can't have every episode mind blowing even though the series is a true classic.

If you are an X files fan, then you need this if only because you are an X files fan.

The first thing you will notice about season 5 is that it only features 20 episodes, 4 shy of the standard 24 as seen in seasons 1-4. However, as filming of the x files movie took place before season 5, this is understandable. However, despite being 4 episodes shorter, the series really is up to the usual standard. The opener ties in with the incredible ending to season 4 and is a great example of Chris Carters ability to mix sci fi with gripping drama- a firm favourite. The series carries forward the conspiracy arc as well as throwing in the odd curve ball episode which breaks up the tension nicely, such as the Pine Bluff Variant a tribute to John Le Carres ''The Spy Who Came in From the Cold'. Also ''The Post Modern Prometheus'' is pure Carter genius. However it is the ... Read More:

Let's get one thing very clear.....This is the turning point of The X-Files as a whole. The season in which Mulder was kept in the sidelines, and John Doggett was pushed as the new male lead agent.
The first part of the video is the final episode of season 7, and the last episode in a while with Mulder as a full-time cast member. It is a good one, and a real treat for long-time fans of the show as Agents Mulder and Scully come full circle, and end up in the exact location of their first ever investigation.
A trip down memory lane for sure.
Then the unthinkable happens, as Mulder vanishes....
The episodes that follow make obvious the change that has happened. The combination of sombre music and great acting by Gillian Anderson makes for some of the most ... Read More:
