DVD : Dynasty: Season Three, Vol. One (REGION 1) (NTSC)
I'm surprised to be the first reviewer for this title as, although a Dynasty fan, I much prefer the later season's to the early 80's episodes which take place before the show really found its (crazy) groove!

This is officially the third season of Dynasty, but to fans its actually the second - Dynasty didn't become Dynasty until Alexis arrived and that only happended at the start of the second series.

Season 3 see's the cast expanded from being mostly family (ie. Carrington) based to included many interlopers including Krystle's leetchy first husband Mark; the butlers daughter Kirby; the return of Sammy-Jo (yay!) and the arrival of evil Adam (boo!).

There are of course endless classic Dynasty 'moments' to ... Read More:

Reviewer: S.A.S.D - See all my reviews
This is a very special season for all fans specially because Farrah Fawcett is back for a few special guest star episodes and this is the last season for Kate Jackson. All them are lovely, it is nice to see how Farrah and Cheryl Ladd mix so well, and Jaclyn Smith! The episodes are mostly enjoyable, although first season is the best, followed closely by second; the third season is also very watchable. Can't wait to have seasons 4 and 5! Hey, Sony guys, we fans want Thiffany and Julie!

DVD : What's the Matter With Helen?/Whoever Slew Auntie Roo? [1971] (REGION 1) (NTSC)
This double sided dvd contains two horror films What's The Matter With Helen ? and Who Slew Auntie Roo ? both starring Shelley Winters. Sadly she is no longer with us but we are still able to endjoy her performances with dvds like this one.

The first film What's The Matter With Helen ? concerns two mothers of convicted murders who escape their past and move to Hollywood. One (played by Debbie Reynolds) becomes a star, while the other (Winters) is left out in the cold and gradually decends into madness. An excellent film which also stars the late Dennis Weaver (McCloud, Gentle Ben). The print is excellent (1.78 ratio widescreen) with very little print damage and good sound quality.

The second film Who Slew Auntie Roo ? ... Read More:

I grew up watching this type of movie in the 80's but was too young to get this one. I always remember the hoo haa over the discovery of Traci Lords' age, which rocked the porn industry at the time and so I was intrigued to see exactly what all the fuss was about. As a previous reviewer comments THAT blue bikini is a real wow on her rather gorgeous body and if you accept that this was the 80's and hammy acting was the norm for these type of films (think Weird Science, Amazon Women On The Moon, Airplane, etc) the film works. Although required to be in varying states of undress Traci Lords does deliver a pretty good performance and the story moves along quite well.

All in all a very good schlock horror movie from the 80's and worth a watch ... Read More:
