A very harrowing, thought provoking and fantastic film. Even though the film is about such disturbing events the humour lightens it and you become engrossed in the story line rooting for Stuart and Alexander! Brilliant just brilliant!!

I first watched this drama when I was about 10 years old and thought it was fantastic. I then watched it again a few weeks ago, and was ultimately surprised that this was available to buy, I had no idea. I am definately going to buy it. Alex Kingston should definately be commended for her excellant performance as Moll, A great drama definately worth watching. I can almost guarantee that 90% of people will watch it again and again.

This has to be the most dismal version of Sherlock Holmes' famous case I've ever witnessed. Holmes himself has been disasterously miscast. For one thing he looks nothing like Conan Doyle's detective. Not only that, but with his beating up cabbies and shooting up in public toilets he's more like an Eastenders character (it seems that having made Eastenders an unwatchable, sensationalist mess the BBC are now doing the same with Sherlock Holmes). Watson is presented as an irritating chinless wonder, and Sir Henry is just boring. The one good performance comes from Richard E Grant, who makes a superbly scheming Stapleton (why didn't they let him play Holmes? He'd have been great!) Then of course there's the hound. Well....what exactly is ... Read More:

Golding was fascinated with what happens when a group of humanity is thrown on their own, isolated from other humanity and forced to recreate their own society. He studied this in Lord of the Flies, and in a great way in the sea trilogy that this film is based upon.

The story involves maturation of Edmund Talbot, an aristocrat who takes ship from England for Sydney, Australia, to take up a post sponsored by his influential Godfather. It's also the story of a group of people of disparate backgrounds who are jumbled into the cramped confines of an elderly, leaky man o' war, with all of the effluvia of 50-year-old ballast and the constant suppuration of slimy bilge water, and packed humanity crammed between the decks. Finally, it's a ... Read More:

Moll Flanders can be either happy with her new-found husband or unhappy when things don't go her way. But when she meets the love of her life, everything will change for this woman and she will try anything to fight for a normal life. It's only for adults as the sex scenes are quite strong and erotic, it went on too long and her ongoing dropping of men may want you to turn against her. But there is a happy ending for her with good pefomances from Alex Kingston and sexy Daniel Craig before Bond came acalling. Worth taking a look.

DVD : FIDEL - the movie (the true story) - Fidel Castro
This movie tries to depict more than 50 year of a very complex historical period, and even thought it is by no means short (over 3 hours) it necessarily has to cut corners in some parts of the story. I should start by saying that both the leads chosen have a striking physical resemblance to the real leaders portrayed (both Castro and Guevara)and that in general the acting is quite good. the story initially moves along quite briskly, depicting the early years of the opposition movement in Cuba, until the success of the revolutionaries in overthrowing the government of Fulgencio Batista. The last third of the movie deals with the acquisition and exercise of the absolute power by the revolutionary "Junta", or, more precisely by the "Lider Maximo". The ... Read More:
