I can't understand how a talented and beautiful actress like Emmanuelle Beart was involved in this film, except to say that it was in the early stages of her career. The story is weak, and the acting (apart from E.B., though she has only a minor part in it) is corny. What a dissapointment!

Oooooh, now where do I start?? Firstly, it's a terrible quality DVD - looks like it's been copied over badly from a dusty VHS tape in the back room of the local Oxfam.

Next, onto the film itself (rubs hands together), I actually thought it got a bit better once a modicum of plot got going. The start was pitiful, just excuses to show naked 'schoolgirls' cavorting - I'm sure boarding school girls don't have mass lesbian romps on the beach anywhere! Anyway, yes although they're all nearer 30 in this, the implication that we're supposesd to 'enjoy' naked schoolgirls is a little disturbing.

I'm not actually sure how writer of this pap thought this is how the world works which bored me somewhat. Men are all misogynists, women ... Read More:

As other reviewers have said this is a most unusual film. There is NO dialogue in the nearly hour length. Strangely though IMO this doesn't take away from the film.

I bought this film as part of the box set with Laura and Bilitis and I think this is the most satisfactory of them. the other films suffer with poor storylines and dialogue and unsympathetic characters.
In St Tropez Hamilton avoids these pitfalls neatly by not developing any characters or story!

The film is is about 6 girls living on their own in a house in St Tropez and thats it!. There are a few minor themes of coming of age and a love story with one of the locals but the majority of the film consists of the girls having breakfast (twice), cycling, picking flowers, ... Read More:

I have to agree with most of the other reviewers. This film really drags from the start and is quite boring.

None of the main characters are sympathetic. Laura is a moany teenager, the sculptor is sleazy and her mother desperately nieve.

I got this film as part of a Hamilton box set with Bilitis and A Summer in St Tropez and this is by far the worst of the 3 films.

The picture quality isn't great either but it's the slow pace and poor story that will have you reaching for the off button.

DVD : Charlie Chan, Vol. 1 [1935] (REGION 1) (NTSC)
Charlie Chan in London is one my favorite movies in the series. The opening grips you when you discover that a young man is about to be executed for a murder he claims he didn't commit. Only his sister believes in his innocence, and all avenues of escape seem closed after the Home Secretary turns down her appeal. But she begs Charlie Chan to see what can be done in the remaining three days.

Charlie is about to leave London but changes his plans to help the young people. Arriving at an English country manor, Charlie must examine the setting to find out what really happened. Only by finding the real killer can the young man be saved.

It all looks pretty bleak until Charlie re-creates the crime and begins to pick up clues. A rattled murderer soon ... Read More:
