Isolated in the most northern town of Alaska, the towns folk are preparing for the month ahead. Their position on the earth means that every year it is darkness for thirty days. A stranger has just come ashore and makes his way towards the town...
The film is wonderfully set up with good characters on a convenient white canvas of snow. There is one particularly memorable tracking shot in the midst of the action that is very impressive indeed. Once the action begins it does not let up. Eerie, scary and bloody - I would recommend this film to anyone who enjoys horror or simply likes a bit of blood and a few scares. I give it 4/5 because the film maker in my head would have done it slightly differently.

This was a great movie; simple, action vampire film. I cant help thinking that they could have made more out of the story line though; the concept of vampires having a party in alaska is an intriguing one. I would not say that it is the best vampire movie of all time though...I saw some review say that (probably a review by Jonathan Ross)

Firstly, this is not your usual Hollywood thriller.

The suspense and thrills come from the situation and the script (and THAT scene), if you want big bangs and glossy special effects then go see Transformers 3 or the prequel to the remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre or whatever nonsense the main studios are churning out for the consumption of the masses these days.

This is an original, intelligent, script led, well scripted and acted, thought provoking 2 handed thriller that isnt scared to take it's time in building tension and reaching it's conclusion.

If only more film makers were brave enough to make movies like this, the world would be a better place.

To be honest, I found this film rather dull. The characters are completely one-dimensional and the story is pretty uninteresting and heavily reminiscent of Night of the Living Dead, Assault on Precinct 13, Dawn of the Dead, etc.. In fact, I'm only giving it 3 points because I love vampires and vampire movies so much. The problem with disposable characters is that you just don't care whether or not they live or die, thus there's no tension when they go an do something really moronic that puts them in imminent danger (there's a fair bit of that in this film). I didn't like the ending much: it seemed a bit of a cop-out, but I won't spoil it for you.

I like to end a review on a positive note if possible, and this film has some really ... Read More:
