Watched the first disc of the first season last night and CRIKEY! What a pile of of old rubbish this show is. A kind of soapy teen sci-fi with the worst of both worlds. I.e, poor script, poor characters and pathetically poor action scenes. Worst is seeing the Alba girl trying to rip off the Faith character from Buffy and dying painfully in the process. Awful to the point of funny. Axed after its 2nd season not without good reason. Avoid if you're over 13...

This was one of the best shows on tv at the time mainly due to ms alba. The first season was better but the second was nowhere near as bad some people think and it wasn`t cancelled just because it didn`t get the viewers apparently it`s viewing figures were pretty good, it was cancelled mainly because they wanted the slot for america`s next top model and the two main stars then went on to do other things, in jessica`s case become a big star in hollywood. As for ms alba`s acting, i`ve always thought she is a good actress, james cameron thought she was since she was the only one he wanted for the role. Although i hav not brought the item i have seen the finale and it is well worth the time and tears to watch. But i would like to point out one flaw, it was not aired in 1998, it was well after this time.

Despite all the five star reviews, this is not the best season of the DVD release of The Creek. I can only guess that many of these reviews were written by people who have only seen the on-air show - which is different to the English language version in the DVD set ! Yes I know that sounds complicated and it is ! The change from the wonderful scripts of seasons one and two to a much less sophisticated approach is true for both on-air and dvd. However the contractual issues by which the music on the English language version of the DVD is different from that of the actual broadcast programmes means that you have a sub standard DVD release for Season 3. I bought this box set recently, having the urge to watch Dawson's Creek again, and I wasn't disappointed. Season Two was always my favourite and to me, it was the best season of the show. I persevered with it for another couple of series when it aired first on TV, years ago, but eventually gave up, tired of how the programme seemed to revolve so much around Joey. I think Season Two showed more diversity. It has the lovely Pacey/Andie relationship which was so cruelly and unrealistically destroyed at the start of Season Three. Pacey and Andie were the cutest Creek couple. She helped him mature and start to make something of his life, while he supported her through her various traumas. I heard somewhere that the 4400 was a fantastic watch so decided to buy it when I saw it going cheap. I was a bit disappointed when I noticed there are only 5 episodes on the first season but what fantastic episodes they are. They give an entire incite into the story, make great introductions of the characters, with brilliant acting, fantastic writing and a great plot I'd recommend it to everyone.
