I've watched this over a period of the past week - the full 22 hours. The weather outside was cold and grumpy, but seeing these three series again was absolutely FANTASTIC. Every one of the characters has their own individuality and Alfie - WOW what a fantastic little actor. His relationship with Kenny (Paul Kaye) was an uplifting experience to watch and at times SO funny. Michelle Collins as Abby, was very, very good. And as for Paul Kaye - well, what can I say!! such a natural, with a very individual and often incredibly sensible outlook on life. The scenery was wonderful, no swearing or violence. I thought Johnny and the Bomb was wonderful. I watched it because I have been a fan of Zoe Wanamaker for over 10 years and, while I wasn't sure what to make of this to begin with, I was won over with the excellent acting by all and the story.

Eastenders is the nations favourite soap opera. This VHS brings you inside the world of Walford. It fetaures many classic moments such as Grant hearing the tape from Phil and Sharon, Phil torching the vic and of cource Den handing Angie divorce papers for a Christmas present! Eatenders has not been very good in recent years (except for Dens return and Alfie Moon) so buy this and be reminded of the glory years.

Lovely, gentle and quiet, but still a definite cut above the usual Sunday evening fare.. originally seeming to be the Beeb's replacement for 'Ballykissangel', this actually was turned around by the idiot-savant Taoist musings of Paul Kaye's wonderful Kenny into something special. Just as Northern Exposure jumped the shark when Joel left, the series was just marking time after his (very poignant) death scene.

Quite disturbing in places and emotionally bleak and harsh. A film about relationships, secrets, young dreams and expectations: dreams that get shattered on the return of the father after 12 years of absence. And as much as you come to fully understand the almost minimalist plot, you never know the whole secret: what's in the box? You don't really need to know. Acted brilliantly, use of colours and angles and soundtrack is superb; some say a weak storyline but I disagree.. there's nothing weak about this. I felt cold the whole time I was watching it, like the cinematography and the storyline somehow gets into you and makes you want to run home. Top film!

An excellent introduction to The Castlefield Blues. A video that works on so many levels with football and soap opera combined. The characters are gritty, believable and they make you realise you know someone just like them. A nice first package of season one complete, it's just a shame for us that bought season one when it came out that you can only buy season 2 by buying season 1 again.
