I love Tamsin Greig. I love Mac. I love this. Green Wing to me is just one of the most perfect comedies out there. The comic timing is unbelievable, and the cast is one of the strongest I've ever seen. Long Live Green Wing.

Jimmy Carr is without doubt one of the country's most talented entertainers. From 'Distraction' to '8 out of 10 Cats', his dry sarcasm has certainly catapulted him to comedy stardom. This stand-up DVD does not disappoint at all and sees Jimmy deliver his quick-fire jokes at the normal rapid pace, but it's the other parts to his routine that stand out for me. In particular the sections where he helps people with ideas of what to write in birthday/get well soon/good luck cards, how to fill in job applications and also answering Agony Aunt letters in his unique way. It gets to the stage where you'd like Ricky to fail, just once, to prove he is mortal. Stand-up comedians spend years doing gong shows and open spots in scruffy clubs, being heckled and booed by a handful of cynical drunks, before they final get the skills and recognition to earn a living. But not Ricky. He steps straight out onto a national tour and shows us how it's done. He is a natural. He has his own style that is instantly recognisable. Two live shows on one disc,'the man who thinks he's it' recorded live at The Palace Theatre in Manchester and 'live 'n' lewd' performed live at London's Lyceum theatre. All his favourite characters appear,Alan Partridge,Paul and Pauline Calf,Tony Ferrino,Ernest Moss and the irritating Duncan Thicket,plus glimpses of Steve backstage. This really is laugh a minute comedy with Paul 'i hate students' Calf and sister Pauline stealing the show during nearly three hours worth of material. Fans of Steve Coogan will love this and i am so glad i decided to add this to my collection,it was the best night out i've had in years.

ive been a fan of bottom, the young ones, filthy rich and catflap anything with these two legends in it and believe me this is the best thing you could ever DO!!!! buy this and its guaranteed piss pant laughter for hours on end.

This was the first Ricky Gervais solo stand-up DVD I saw, and it did not disappoint. I found the video clips interesting and the commentaries hilarious. It's a genius but slightly twisted mind behind the show. I enjoyed the picking apart of facts and just the general ease with which Gervais delivered line after line of side splitting humour. Brilliant comedy DVD with some pockets of sentiment.

Let's put to one side the hypocrisy of Gervais, who's now bought into the celebrity culture he tried to build his career mocking in an attempt to ingratiate himself to a young audience. Let's also put to one side the tedious 'joke' that he tried desperately to brand his 'faux' arrogance (how many times can you do that and have people believe you're 'only pretending'?). Let's just simply look at what's on offer here, and whether it's any good. The answer is no. I winced several times while watching this, not only at how unfunny the material was (cheap, lazy writing with the trademark Ricky Gervais pops at the handicapped, diseased and so on) but that the man himself had lost touch to the extent that he didn't even realise. I found him to be hilarious , he has this amazing ability to make you laugh and cringe at the same time . Watch this and make your own mind up. I do think he is a very clever comedian and if you like the standard fair then stay away but if you want something different take a look

This is better than his first stand up offering the year before. Here he sticks to traditional stand up, rather then the small ads, t-shirt slogan and member of audience asking questions on couch style material. He 'clearly does' use a lot of material from the first dvd (more so than any other comedian) so much so you are wondering if you are watching the 2004 dvd. But, he makes up for this by adding new material amongst the old stuff. This new material is good enough to make this a 4 star offering. Jimmy still picks on the front rows, and does this more so and is more ruthless than before. He adlibs brilliantly too when he gets responses from his victims. His material is not for the easily offended, or even the not so easily offended for that matter, and sometimes he does go too ... Read More:
