Love this guy! Especially between 95 to 98, what a comedic god! It was a shame he finished his career with a whimper rather than a BANG but with material (Difinate Article, Glorious, Dressed to Kill) like this, who cares? It does make one wonder what it is about his first release 'Live at the Ambassador' that makes him want us never to see or know about it again? I have it on VHS and it knock spots of Cirle and the dreadful Sexy. Come on Eddie, release your first offering, the bit about the Dalek is a hoot!

This film is fantastic. The most remarkable thing about it, is that almost anyone will find it funny. As a 14 year old i found it hilarious because of all the jokes about teenage life, which is very accurate despite being written by a middle aged man, adults (espiecially paents) will laugh at how exagerated the behaviour is and how the characters are similar to quite a few teenage boys and also children will laugh at just how silly they act and talk (although it probably isnt suitable for them) lol.

Overall this film is hilarious and you should certainly watch it no matter how old or young you are and is a dead cert for fans of Harry Enfield.

Even if you don't buy, just make sure you watch it as you'll remember it forever.

I bought this first series because of the extremely enthousiastic reviews, but I can't help but being very disappointed. This comedy is outdated, the "slapstick and funny faces" - humor doesn't work for me anymore. Probably I would have liked it as a 9 or 10 year-old, but now I am just annoyed by this.

After having seen the first couple of episodes on the Series 1 DVD, I wondered whether my memories of this show were rose-tinted. After those first few - and throughout this second series - I'm reassured that my favourable memories were accurate. This is excellent. The performances of the leads are sublime, and the writing of Steve Knight and Mike Whitehill works really well for these characters.

Plus, there are a few episodes I'd forgotten all about. To jog your memory, this contains:
* The one where Briggs and Louis get suspended and meet the blind pool player
* The one in the monastery
* The one in the boxing gym
* The one containing the pilchards lorry and the trip to Amsterdam
* The one with Rula Lenska

At long last, the BBC has seen fit to treat one of its very best with the respect it deserves. Plenty of extras, out-takes, documentries, the lot. Red Dwarf is definitely one of the best comadies ever. The concept of the series is hillarious in itself - Dave Lister (Craig Charles), the last man left in the universe, stranded 3 million years into deep space, accompanied by a hologram simulation of his dead bunk mate Arnold J Rimmer (Chris Barrie), who he hates with a passion, a creature who evolved from his cat (Danny John Jules) on a mining ship piloted by a senile computer, Holly (in this series, played by Norman Lovett).

The first couple of series were made on the cheap in Manchester with grey sets and not much in the way of special effects. The ... Read More:

I recently got all five series shipped to me in Australia and they are still as funny as ever. Series 3 contained the best episodes i think. DC of Love, Flash and the peeing your pants funniest episode of all Between a Rock and a Hard Place.

Highly Recommended. If you havent seen The Detectives, its worth the chance to buy it. Unbelievably funny.

If you love British comedies like Red Dwarf, The Brittas Empire, Fawlty Towers and so on, you will love the Detectives.

This series is worth seeing just for the look on Listers face when a genetically altered Kryten (altered into a human being) hands him a double polaroid of his newly acquired "re-charge socket" and asks "Is this normal?" I don't know what was actually on the photos, but Craig Charles looks genuinely stunned.

The series was going from strength to strength at this point. The writing was genius, the acting superb and the scrapes the characters got into were hilarious.

As with all the other Red Dwarf DVDs the extras are as brilliant as the series itself, good documentries, lots of smeg ups and Chris Barries impression of Kenneth Williams is brilliant.

This series had more funding than the first, and it does show. The cast are now established, it's as if the roles are now second nature to them. There's some absolute classic lines, the line in the episode "Kryten" when they realise that the crew they've gone to rescue have been actually been dead for several centuries and Lister turns to Rimmer and says "the blonde one's winking at you" still has me doubled over laughing today.

Red Dwarf is so original and simply can't be copied - the Americans have tried and failed miserably. What makes it is the cast, no-one else could have played any character, with any other actors it just doesn't work, they're so perfect in the roles. This series is sheer brilliance.

As with series 1, there are plenty of extras ... Read More:
