Brendan Fraser is King of the late late 80's to mid 90's type of action/adventure film for the whole family to enjoy. There's no blood, no real violence but good clean enjoyable fun with great special FX.

The story makes fun of itself by aknowledging the orginal book and by saying that he was documenting real facts and so off go our trio of adventurers to find out. From there its non stop action and some cheesey dialogue but that's what family adventure films are all about.

The 3D glasses are fun to try but technology hasn't really came on leaps and bounds but its a worthwhile watch once or twice just to say you've done it and some of the 3d moments are very well done - if not the best 3d effects I've seen.

What a load of tosh .. 3D was rubbish reverting back to the 80's style green/red paper glasses . If you want a decent version i suggest the original version with James Mason. If this is the way that 3D movies are being released , its a step backwards in technology. Overall it was pathetic movie with little action and cardboard acting. If your desperate to watch it i suggest renting or search an online auction site and hopefully buy it at a price below rental prices . Yet another over hyped aweful movie released on a couple of average scenes shown on T.V.

Stay clear

We have seen Brendan Fraser movies at only maintained the title and not the meat of the true story, such as "The Mummy", who doesn't look a thing like Peter Cushing (1959). Now we are presented with "Journey to the Center of the Earth." However this movie does give us a good synopsis of the story. And it is very much fun to watch.

Prof. Trevor Anderson (Brendan Fraser) has lost a brother. Professor Anderson's nephew Sean Anderson (Josh Hutcherson) has lost a father. Well circumstances force them to spend some time together. They realize that they might be able to find the lost Max Anderson and make a trip to Iceland in pursuit. They are bigger and across the tasty mountain guide Hannah Ásgeirsson (Anita Briem), who has recently lost ... Read More:

Some of the best episodes can be found here for they are great viewing. Great all round entertainment for Xena fans as the duo embark on their final adventures which ends in a superb two parter set in Japan. Only criticism of the set however, is that extras are non existent which is a shame. But, am sure Xena fans will lap it up anyway. Great picture and sound, and even better price too. With prices as low as this, they are giving DVDs away nowadays.

DVD : Xena - Warrior Princess - Series 3 (Box Set 1)
Having watched the previous two series, where we are witness to the development of the relationship between Gabby and Xena, this series takes their relationship a little further into reality. As the watchers of this realistic and heart rending series, we see how the lies and secrets our hero's tell reveal the cracks in what is thought to be the perfect friendship. Throughout other series the portayal of their relationship is paramount and this series is no different, however it is done in such a way that you cant help taking sides.

The series is not without a huge serving of humour, with regulars such as Joxer and Ares delivering great mounds of laughter. However it is felt that this injection of humour is much needed in light of the much darker nature of the ... Read More:

DVD : Xena - Warrior Princess - Series 3 - Part 2 [1998]
This second boxset for series 3 contains some of my favourite episodes such as The Bitter Suite, King Con and Fins, Femmes & Gems. They are beautifully crisp copies, as well as being the uncut versions of the episodes. This boxset is a vital addition to any collector of the Xena Series, especially as it resolves all of the bad feelings raised in the first part of series 3 between Xena and Gabrielle.

Its a pity they didn't produce it in the same colour box as Series 3 volume 1, but at the end of the day who cares!

Wow.

Oh, you want more?

OK. Double wow.

Season 4 rocks! Let me illustrate....

The last 11 episodes gets underway with 'If the Shoe Fits;' an amusing interlude that is worth watching just for the performance of Renee O'Connor. Her comic timing is used to perfection, both verbally (check out the psycho-babble) and physically (the sight of her as the village idiot. Priceless...) Otherwise, the story isn't up to much, but who cares? Sit back and enjoy!

The foundations of the India arc are laid in 'Paradise Lost,' an interesting episode that looks gorgeous (esp. the yin/yang imagery) up until the point that LL adopts the look of a frenzied rabbit (not joking!). It's most powerful moment comes from a whispered admission ... Read More:

DVD : Xena: Warrior Princess - Season 6 (REGION 1) (NTSC)
This is my favourite season, with episodes like "Coming Home" - in which Ares calls upon Xena to help him restore his godhood, unaware that the Furies are conspiring against him.

The second episode "The Haunting of Amphipolis" Xena's mother has been killed and when Xena, Gabrielle and Eve return home, the home is haunted by Cyrenes spirit, Xena battles Mephistopheles - but if Xena kills Mephistopheles she is forced to take over the throne of Evil.

The 3rd episode is "Heart of Darkness" Xena fights to avoid inheriting the throne of Mephistopheles by devising a plan to turn the cocky archangel Lucifer into the King of Hell.

Episode 4 "Who's Gurkhan?" When Gabrielle learns that her niece has been captured by the vicious raider Gurkhan, she ... Read More:
