Stop Making Sense by Talking Heads is the accepted benchmark for filmed concerts. That might be more energetic and cinematic, but this is almost as good. It's very well filmed. The editing is slow enough to let us see the instruments being played, but not too slow that it becomes boring for the eyes to watch. Also there are no special effects to distract the viewer/camera operators so it plays a lot better for home viewing.

Musically the two hours of Pink Floyd songs sound great. It might annoy some that the female backing vocals are so loud and extensive, but I liked them (except on Shine On You Crazy Diamond). I like that the DVD favours the vocals over the music so the lyrics can really be heard without any difficulty. ... Read More:

It is a great gift for every music fan to see, how Springsteen and the whole E Street Band develop a song from just some lyrics and a few notes to a masterpiece within a few days. Pure talent and music genious.

Don't think. Don't hesitate. Just buy it!

DVD : Bruce Springsteen - Blood Brothers [1995]
This is the story of a genuine man who has been making inspirational music for some 30 years. This video documents the reunion of the legendary E Street Band with their 'Boss'. Springsteen comes across as a man who will make his music, his way, and to that end it is an inspiring insight to the way he comes up with the finished product. In light of the 1999 Reunion tour by Bruce and the Band it also serves as an historical document of the 'rebirth' of the Band. In an industy filled with contrived pop stars with contrived tunes and lyrics and little shelf life, Springsteen continues to take his fans on an inspiring journey giving value for money all the way. Peace - Love - Justice & No Mercy

DVD : The Doobie Brothers: Rockin' Down the Highway - The Wildlife Concert [1996] (REGION 1) (NTSC)
This DVD would have scored 4 or maybe 5 pts in my book, if it wasn't for the fact that The Doobie's waste much of of this DVD's concert time with a lot of "insignificant" material from older days and newer times. Only when the concert are on the "finale", the Doobie's deems it aproperiate to dig out some of their "famous" old-stuff. Then you can stomp ya feet, shake yer head and groove on to their gospel-like rock.
And, their good stuff is faaar out man!
The bands overall performance and stage sound is good, just like we have come to apreciate from never concerts.
