I never watch Doctor Who, I always thought of it as dumb sci-fi, so I was surprised when I saw these three episodes on TV. If you've never watched Doctor Who before, buy this DVD first before any others (although there's some in-jokes there that you don't get if you're not a fan).

There are three episodes on here and the first up is Human Nature, where a school teacher dreams of havign adventures in space. Worst episode on the disc, but still very scary. Baines, the villain is a brilliant actor and those scarecrows are... scary.

THe second is the second part of Human Nature; Family of Blood. More Baines, more scarecrows, and some truly sad moments. Paul Cornell is a brilliant writer and all the actors are incredible. ... Read More:

Loved this programme- great characters, good music and silly love triangles. Okay, it was always very unrealistic, but it was really entertaining also.

This series.... not one of the best, but still good. Worth adding to your collection I reckon.

The Idiot's Lantern is by far the worst Dr Who episode ever made. If I wanted to watch a house full of squabbling, cliched & over-sterotyped characters I would watch an episode of Neighbours. But I'm being too harsh on Neighbours - even at its worst, the characters in Neighbours have more depth and are more believable than those that bicker their way through The Idiot's Lantern. I suppose this was supposed to be some kind of social commentary - but setting up a strawmen like Eddie, just to kick him down, is a puerile way to make a point. This episode is a disgrace to the Dr Who series :( The Rise of the Cybermen and the Age of Steel are worth a watch if you like the Cybermen.

having found the christmas special and New Earth reasonably enjoyable,i decided that series 1 couldn't be beaten...i was totally wrong...David Tennant is the greatest doctor of them all,and he just kept improving throughout this series.
these are without a doubt the greatest episodes in series 2,and i even prefer these to the finale(Doomsday).

Tooth & Claw-a genuinly rewarding experience,Russel T.Davies has written a mini-horror film, and unlike the movies this werewolf is very scary and artistic to look at...i personally feel that this is the best episode he wrote of series 2 as it combines the humour, stunts and scares needed in an episode of Doctor Who,and Rose isn't all lovy dovy with the Doc in this episode(thank god!!!)but the chemistry is ... ... and the irony was, for years after the very last broadcast of the old series in the 1980's, it was certain that the most anticipated thing was indeed the next Doctor, and the next season. And we waited and waited.

If we had known what was going to actually happen, we would have all gone collectively insane. How many years?

Several instances of breaking news occurred in that long interval. Always disappointing; time and time again there was news of a revival; the final clincher, so we thought, was the announcement that a particular and unnamed BBC boss assured everybody that the series was all but buried - that on his watch it would never again arise in any form.

But by the time we got to that point, in a bizarre but predictable ... Read More:
