To say I was disappointed by this is an understatement. The idea sounded great and having heard the music in a shop I was even more interested in seeing it. But close ups of Zidane kicking his heels about sums it up. It lost all the pace and excitment that football is about and didn't even fill in the gaps in story of the game. They no doult were edited out in the name of 'art' along with some of Mogwai's music. So one star for the original idea (I did liked the camera shot moving through the empty corridors and stairways, up and into the stadium arena) and one for the music, which was memorable, if a little sparce.

This film is a perfect 50's classic. Sure the special effects a limited but the acting is spot on. All the actors are perfectly cast and the viewer can see why it spawned so many more like it. The fact that the police are wearing bow ties in the desert is also something to look out for. Great movie.

I gave up watching after the scene where flint was reviving an unconcious GI. This had obviously been cut (lamp CPR removed) and thus spoilt any enjoyment. Why do they cut 20, 30, 40 year old films?

FTD has a durable reputation as a genuinely funny comedy, and one of The King's best movies. The latter may be true but then most of Elvis's films are dreadful. Though the star acts quite well here, the movie has dated badly. It's characterised by a particularly twee brand of lame humour, the story and characters are wafer thin, and - the title song excepted - the soundtrack numbers are forgettable.

Frank,Dean, Sammy and Bing all shone in this fantastical musical, they really showed on screen what great entertainers they were, the kind of people who we need today in cinema. The story about gangsters, gambling and the Rat pack ,was genius. I enjoyed secenes such as the transformation of Robbo's casino to a revival meeting,where Guy Gisbourne (Peter Falk) gets mugged, the pool match between Frank and Dean and Sammy wrecking Gisbourne's casino with his machine gun.Quotes said in the film, "I think somethin's wrong with his throat" and "I wonder where he's going?
