This is an eclectic collection of love tales set in Paris , some slightly dull and some just brilliant . The whole movie is worth watching just because of the Coen brothers film with Steve Buscemi and the romance between a boy and a vampire.

There are a lot of familiar faces in the movie and the short films a generally well directed , just because is 18 of them , it feels a little short.

Before they were quite so famous, two of the main cast of this superb film gave the performances that would kick their acting careers into the million dollar market.
The film itself will forever be a classic. Its simple and easy to relate to plot has you laughing, crying and remembering your own youth.
The main plot and character are a work of genius and really has your total attention through the whole film. It expands your mind to the further possibles of life and also those missed oppotunities.
So the story is amazing, the acting is fantastically believable and the film is crammed full of modern day superstars. What are you waiting for?!?

1 star is even too good for this movie.

Probably, in all honesty, the worst movie i have ever seen.

I wanted to watch this movie after watching "Bang, Bang, You're Dead" as it tackles the same subject of school shootings somewhat, but this movie dissapointed from start to finish, I was lucky to get to the end without falling asleep.

It was as has been said, watching kids run around a school on camera. I can understand what was being tried here - but it did not work. Nothing there to keep the viewer interested, and nothing atall to rave about.

Terrible movie, wouldn't want to see it again.

One gets addicted to drugs, for sure, but that is only a small part of the business. This film tries to show how the addiction is an attitude, a social behavior, an act of belonging to a group, a community, a social class nearly, but not that far away from it. Here the dependence is threefold. First the girlfriend who is determined to stay addicted because her addiction is moderate enough to be controlled. Then the boyfriend and his own girlfriend and this time there is some status question here and to go on is to belong to a certain level of humanity, a certain level of masculinity. And then there is the wider community of the junkies, dealers and other characters in that farcical, yes farcical, melodrama. Then there are various events that make that addiction ... Read More:

It has been done a million times and this won't be the last time the "teacher, student, rebel," mechanism will be tried. Take one recluse (Sean Connery) and an aspiring under privileged student (Rob Brown VI) to cancel out a dysfunctional environment. They even have a common nasty antagonist (F. Murray Abraham) to pick on.
Predictability is not the problem. It starts out so noisy that you will have to turn the sound off for the first five minutes. Everything from the story to the environment to the camera shots is mediocre. Anything that may have been of use for writing or refereed to writing is glossed over with music or faded out. You can be assured this movie has nothing to do with writing other than hitting the (typewriter) keys hard enough. The characters ... Read More:

River Phoenix plays narcoleptic hustler Mike Waters, who unlike those around him, has a dependent personality and is psychologically unable to move on in his life in any way. The movie shows Mike looking for a home, and fruitlessly trying to trace his mother so that he can re-capture the safety of his childhood. Thrown into the mix are Shakespearian elements, with dialogue loosly based on Henry IV parts 1&2, with Keanu's Scott (Hal) slumming it with William Richert's Falstaffian Bob. There is no answer to Mike's problems ("this road never ends"), he's simply not able to adapt to adult life and take responsibility for himself. It's not his fault; he just has something missing. Deleted scenes show by contrast other male prostitutes getting jobs and moving on. Udo Kier is hysterical ... Read More:

I would strongly echo the sentiments expressed by the other '1 star' reviews. There are some films you watch where you realise it is not to your taste but appreciate that taste is a subjective thing and that there are elements that others may greatly appreciate. That was not the case here - objectively I simply cannot understand why this film was made or why others would consider it to have redeeming features. If I hadn't bought this in another jurisdiction I would be taking it back for a refund (which I have never done on the basis of the artistic merit of a film). Some of the higher reviews on here seem to suggest that it is somehow 'artistic' and 'experimental' - it is definitely different but to me it is a wholly failed experiment.

This pitiful remake of the amazing Alfred Hitchcock horror movie, "Psycho" isn't a patch on the original. Everything about this film is bad, the magic of the 60s classic just isn't there and i'm sure Hitchcock wouldn't approve.
Do yourself a favour, avoid this bad remake and buy the original, far more superior and entertaining in every way!

This film is just dire.

Not only is it painfully slow, disjointed and lacking in any substance of any sort at all, it is ultimately pointless.

The story in short? A teenager accidently causes the death of a security guard and then spends the rest of the film discombobulated by his own actions. He finally comes to terms with the "horror" of the death by writing a cathartic letter to a friend which he then symbolically burns.
If only life was that easy!

The director has attempted to make a powerful film out of a simple story but has failed dismally to create any kind of tension and the film is ultimately just dull. The film is meant to build to the "shocking" death of the security guard but seriously if you are moved by that absolutely rediculous scene ... Read More:

This movie, told as a documentary, with scenes from different time lines related, is about Suzanne Stone Maretto (Nicole Kidman in an incredible acting role development) a cold woman, not very smart but very determined to accomplish her goals and with an obsession with the cameras; who got married with Larry Maretto (Matt Dillon), a good guy and husband; this movie, told as a documentary about the events in their life as a couple is a sarcastic story based on a book inspired by real events (the life of Pamela Smart).

Suzanne (the main character) manage to get a job as a weather woman in a TV channel, but her goals are even higher; and in the way, making a documentary, she meet three teenagers that will play an important role in the film: Jimmy Emmett (Joaquin Phoenix), Russel Hines (Casey ... Read More:
