It's probably unfair to expect quality drama from a Christmas special, but The Christmas Invasion doesn't even compare with subsequent Christmas episodes. Admittedly it has to deal with the introduction of a new Doctor, always a knotty problem. In the 60s and 70s we'd simply have a regeneration and a couple of scenes with the new Doctor being a bit unpredictable before getting on with the story. In the 80s, and here, we have the new Doctor sit out most of the story because his regeneration has gone wrong/he's unstable/he can't be bothered (delete as applicable). The story itself, such as it is, is a very light runaround for the younger members of the family with a scary monster being bad and the Doctor talking in funny voices, quoting The Lion ... having found the christmas special and New Earth reasonably enjoyable,i decided that series 1 couldn't be beaten...i was totally wrong...David Tennant is the greatest doctor of them all,and he just kept improving throughout this series.
these are without a doubt the greatest episodes in series 2,and i even prefer these to the finale(Doomsday).

Tooth & Claw-a genuinly rewarding experience,Russel T.Davies has written a mini-horror film, and unlike the movies this werewolf is very scary and artistic to look at...i personally feel that this is the best episode he wrote of series 2 as it combines the humour, stunts and scares needed in an episode of Doctor Who,and Rose isn't all lovy dovy with the Doc in this episode(thank god!!!)but ... This is quite ordinary, nothing much to be honest, i was going to buy it being a big fan of Richard Armitage, but luckily, it was shown as a repeat on bbc4. The programme was fine but not worth spending too much on! (he was great in it though!!)

Fun. raunchy and enjoyable entertainment. The cast obviously had a ball playing it. Isn't that what this type of D.V.D is all about.? The scenery and costumes were a dream and so subtle. I had a very happy evening watching this.

DVD : The Bill - The Burnside Files [1984]
Three episodes or cracking Burnside action -- but the first one is far and away the best. Roache and Tosh catch porn merchants moving into Sun Hill, and Burnside remembers them from his previous posting. By the end of the half-hour, Burnside has the two criminals at each other's throats. Ruthless and brilliant.

DVD : The Bill - The Trial of Eddie Santini, Kiss Off parts 1 & 2. [1984]
PC Eddie Santini was one of the most enigmatic thief-takers ever to appear on "The Bill", along with such notables as DS John Bolton and DS Don Beech. This is the highly dramatic conclusion to this character's role on "The Bill" as well as to a singular and remarkable storyline which developed over the course of two years. "Old Flame" which is the first episode to appear on this tape reunites Santini with DS Rosie Fox whom he first admired, later almost stalked and finally victimised along with most of Sun Hill. She is out for revenge and alone suspects his deeper involvement in a mysterious arson. Eddie must not only deal with the criminals with which he has inadvertantly involved himself but also with Fox. Everything gets out of control ... Read More:
