The first two Alien films are amazingly good, & the rest are well worth watching but less excellent. This is a great collection & good value for money.

If you are a fan of Bryan Fullers work (Dead Like Me, Wonderfalls, Pushing Daisies) then you will LOVE this movie. It is so beautiful and rich in colour and a joy to watch.

wow! Fans of Delicatessen will enjoy this. Its a rather charming tale combining science and mystery. It's well worth the 5 stars as it's beautifully shot especially Perlman running through the tunnel about 10 mins into the film. To get the full effect of just how good this film is, you need to see it for yourself. This puts harry potter to shame with it's originality, charm and beauty. A film hollywood wishes it could make.

This movie bears the unmistakably imprint of a Jeunet, even if the territory is somewhat different to his other works. The warm, yellowish tint on the glorious cinematography, the stylised images accompanying the sharp narrative at regular intervals, the presence of many members of the Jeunet repertory company (Dominique Pinon, Urbain Cancelier, Ticky Holgado and of course the mesmerising Audrey Tatou, to name but a few), supplemented by a fine cast including Oscar winners Marion Cotillard and Jodie Foster. His quirky style is not to everybody's taste, though the charm of Amelie won over the hearts of millions. This is actually a detective thriller set against the first world war. This is film noir set I presume in post world war 2 Paris, but anyway the details don't matter except to say that the starkness of the landscape is echoed in that of peoples' struggle to survive. The fascination is that up to an almost ridiculous point a pretense of adhering to various social conventions is kept up while all the while macabre scenes lurk and hang unseen ( but not unheard ) . It is certainly of the 'elephant in the room ' variety that few wish to either acknowledge or confront - you will soon work it out for yourself.The film revels in rapaciousness. You will find yourself laughing at absurdity, at touching moments of human urbanity,but also at things which normally would be too chilling to be funny. Very well acted and tightly directed.

This is one of my all time favourite films. It is beautifully shot and acted with many interweaving stories and plots. A fantastic film.

This is a very formulaic movie that has a few enjoyable parts but overall is a letdown to the series. It's a film that gets very silly very quickly and doesn't have the class of the first two by a long shot.
