I wasn't lucky enough to catch this series on TV all those years ago and don't ever remember it being repeated. Found it by chance on Amazon and the great reviews made me buy it. It sat on my bookshelf for a couple of weeks until Sunday evening when I watched the first episode. It got me hooked almost immediately and like the last reviewer I got through the entire 23 episodes in three days. It was totally addictive, like reading a great book you just can't put down - just one more chapter, until before you know it it's 3am and there's work tomorrow. Very watchable especially for Ally McBeal fans of the series. Better than the soap operas we now have on TV - the characters are fresher, cleaner and more inspiring than the gloomy cast of down and outs in English 'soaps'. A few later episodes in this series become boring with added excessive shouting/arguing which spoils the style of 'Ally McBeal'. This multiple CD set prepares one for the next season of quirky characters who compliment each other well in the serious setting of a law firm, with occasional (surreal) flights of fancy.

Although i hav not brought the item i have seen the finale and it is well worth the time and tears to watch. But i would like to point out one flaw, it was not aired in 1998, it was well after this time.

Despite all the five star reviews, this is not the best season of the DVD release of The Creek. I can only guess that many of these reviews were written by people who have only seen the on-air show - which is different to the English language version in the DVD set ! Yes I know that sounds complicated and it is ! The change from the wonderful scripts of seasons one and two to a much less sophisticated approach is true for both on-air and dvd. However the contractual issues by which the music on the English language version of the DVD is different from that of the actual broadcast programmes means that you have a sub standard DVD release for Season 3. I bought this box set recently, having the urge to watch Dawson's Creek again, and I wasn't disappointed. Season Two was always my favourite and to me, it was the best season of the show. I persevered with it for another couple of series when it aired first on TV, years ago, but eventually gave up, tired of how the programme seemed to revolve so much around Joey. I think Season Two showed more diversity. It has the lovely Pacey/Andie relationship which was so cruelly and unrealistically destroyed at the start of Season Three. Pacey and Andie were the cutest Creek couple. She helped him mature and start to make something of his life, while he supported her through her various traumas. Honestly, Joey and Pacey saved DC for me. And I would have never gotten to season 4 if season 3 hadn't brought forth the most compelling couple on the show. These two have undeniable chemistry, so much that it completely blows every other couple out of the water, especially Dawson and Joey, who have a weird, manipluative friendship (see season three) and NO chemistry or passion. Season 4 was good only in the fact that it showed the relationship of Joey and Pacey continue on after the last season finale. These two are very good together, but of course, the writers had to bring drama into the mix. This boxset is very like the others but contains every episode from series 4. This series was outstanding but did finish just about at the right time and they didn't flog to to death but a fell it time to give it a quick re-birth and make a movie and bring Sam home if you know the ending to the last season you may they can do that it wouldn't be true then. As a fan I felt for Sam and his wife back in 1999 and they did film two outcomes one he did leap back home but well I won't say if you don't know the outcome. But I will say the last episode ever is a big surprise not just for Sam and Al but you as the viewer with get a shock.
