Heroes has been the best series too be shown on TV in years and this second part of the first season contains the final twelve episodes. The first half of the season was extremely good and if anything the episodes presented here are even better. This does have something to do with the brilliant writing and the involving plot as well as the performances by most of the regular cast members.

Despite the more than adequate performances from the cast, this half of Heroes is comprehensively stolen by the various guest stars that crop up now and again. Of particular interest are George Takei, Christopher Eccleston and Malcolm McDowell all of whom are great actors and all of whom steal the show whenever they are on screen.

DVD : Short Circuit [1986]
I must have been eleven years old when I first saw this film, and right from its oddly quirky (and gorgeous) opening music I was hooked.

The idea is not new, nor original. An experimental military robot goes wrong and escapes the institute at which it was built. The institute must then send personell to capture it before it causes any harm. Except that it's not going to cause any harm.

Strategic Artificially Intelligent Nuclear Transport (SAINT) No. 5 is inquisitive, thoughtful and totally unaware that it is a weapon. It thirsts desperately for knowledge, or 'input', and has a penchant for television re-runs, soon befriending Stephanie, a struggling young woman with a rampant habit of taking in stray animals.

If you want a gritty film thats has a good storyline and fabulously acted parts then this is the one for you.
Bridget plays a ruffian, a drug abusing lowlife who has taken part in a chemist shop slaying whilst her gang was looking for drugs.
She is sentenced to death. They kill her by lethel injection.
Then she wakes up, she has been offered a second chance in life but there are rules, she must behave, obey the rules and follow orders. Gabriel Burne plays the agent that recruited her and its his job to see she flies right and gets with the programme, the main incentive being of course the fact that she is already legally dead, if they wanted to kill her now for misbehaving no one would know any different.
She has a talent for killing, ... Read More:

Looking back on my formative years, several theatrical releases stand out above all others, films such as the Star Wars trilogy (of course), E.T., Grease, and - yes - Wargames. Back in 1983, this film was incredible. Home computers were still mysterious contraptions I knew little about (I doubt I even had my Commodore 64 yet), and here was a guy hacking into other computers to change his grades, play cool new games, and who knew what else. And if that weren't enough, his computer actually talked. Looking back now, I have to wonder how many hackers became hackers because of Wargames. I know the film produced plenty of kids just like me who suddenly wanted a computer more than anything else in the world. Younger generations might not appreciate Wargames as much ... Read More:

I have thoroughly enjoyed watching Part 1 of this series. The story is well written with plenty of questions being thrown up. It is very much a mystery and my curiosity led me to carry on watching this way past my bedtime.

I too have found their decision to split the series into two parts for European release a disappointment. Series 1 is now available as a single box set but the pricing is extortionate compared to what USA viewers pay.

I'll be watching Part 2 next and hope it maintains the high standard set by Part 1. I'm certainly eager to find out what happens next.

a truly awful film watched it on the strengh of Depp and Walken, what a mistake, a ridiculous story line, over the top acting from Walken and typical Holywood ending so predictable. Speaks volumes for a film when the best lines went to a 4 yr old kid, avoid this film like the plague.

DVD : Bird on a Wire [1990]
THis film was released shortly after the super success of Lethal Weapon 2 and looking at the trailer with its action sequences, one would expect traces of Mel Gibson's 'Riggs' portrayal. Quite the opposite ! This is an all out and out comedy and the pairing of Gibson and Goldie Hawn works wonders. This is what saves this fairly predictable film. The dialogues are corny but then with such a pairing, it works fine. 'The climatic scene ruins the film and could have well been edited. Better still watch this 110 minute film and once you reach 100 minutes; press the eject button.

John Travolta (Grease) stars as Tony Manero, a troubled 19 year old who's joy in life comes from the dance floor, and when Stephanie comes along, he finds a whole new world to be explored in dancing.

This 1977 music drama is one of the reasons Travolta is one of Hollywood's most established stars with a mesmerizing Oscar nominated performance as Tony Manero, the troubled paint store assistant whose only joy comes from dancing. Travolta is an icon on the dance floor in this picture, with sweet moves and a great image, especially in his slick white suit. Dancing moves, motives and timing all combine to give him one of his best performances in his career.

Having a difficult home life but a joyous night life gives the film a sweet escapism to the plot, to go out and have the time ... Read More:
