I just finished watching the Rocky cycle, all 6! I must say it was excellent watching the whole series. I remember being disappointed by number five especially but it was better than I remembered, especially knowing how it was "top and tailed" by number 6. If you are a woman or male-child (physically or mentally) you may just want to watch I and VI but definitely watch VI again with the commentary by Sylvester Stallone so you can get the depth behind this life lesson.

I'm not a fan of boxing, so I put off watching this film for a long time as I was under the false impression that that was all that Rocky was about - boxing. How very wrong I was. Although boxing is one of the main storylines in the movie, it is definately not the only one, with many other story arcs, themes, and ideas that were better suited to my interests.

Sylvester Stallone gives an incredible, unforgettable performance as Rocky Balboa, a small time boxer who is given the chance to fight the heavy weight champion. The character is warm, likeable, funny, and Stallone really brings Rocky alive. Talia Shire likewise does a fantastic job as Adrian (Rocky's incredibly shy girlfriend), infact, I can't think of a single bad performance ... Read More:

I have had this movie on Video for ages and have wanted the DVD, unfortunatly my only option was to buy the US version, which I have now done. This movie is one of my must sees, a very moving film, which all my friends hadnt seen before and have loved. As to the previous reviews if the book is even better, I will go and buy. This is a must for your DVD collection.

THIS IS JUST AMAZING. Rocky is such a legend and sylvester stallone plays Rocky so superbly. The first film is the best because thats just life changing, but rocky 2 has the best scene where he is climbing the philadelphia museum steps with thousands of people behind him, Rocky 3 is a great film, Rocky 4 is a bit better than rocky 3 and rocky 5 is another hit. If you want your slice of rocky then go buy this because its in a different class to other films. Sit back grab the popcorn and watch rocky, its life-changing.

i dont see what all the fuss is about? I thought this rocky was as good as the rest, if not better. he is brought back to the streets where he was born and raised, which creates a 'knock down' effect, giving the family a chance to get up when down, which in all fairness is what rocky is all about. The street fight at the end was in my opinion, the best moment in all the rocky series. joint with rocky vs. mason, and rocky vs. appollo creed II. FANTASTIC DESERVES 6 STARS.

This is the complete collection of Rocky films, spanning all six films across 30 years. If you already own the Anthology box set there is little incentive to buy this new collection, simply because it differs very little from the previous box set. The most obvious addition is the latest film, Rocky Balboa. This film is a definite finale for the franchise, so rest assured you won't buy this box set only to find out Rocky 7 is on the way. The only other difference is with the original Rocky film, as this collection includes the "Definitive Edition" - a 2 disc set packed full of extras, that can also be bought separately.

Rocky 2 right through to Rocky 5 remain untouched from previous versions, which means they include nothing in the way of extras. This is what has ... Read More:

Rocky is iconic - it's up there with the Star Wars' and Indiana Jones of this world so why have MGM chosen to release this poor Blu-ray? The film is magnificant and deserves five stars no doubt! But the transfer is all over the place. The beginning five minutes are shoddy 1.5/5 for picture quality with far too much grain. Then things improve and at times I actually believed I was watching a HD film. Rocky is 32 years old but that's no excuse. Superman is 30 years old and that looks great on Blu-ray. The darkest scenes are full of grain and deserve 2.5/5 for picture quality. It's in the daylight that this film comes alive and earns between 3 and 3.5 for picture. The sound is fine if a tad underwhelming for a DTS 5.1 track. I don't regret buying it because it's Rocky and I bought ... Read More:
