I have just finished watching this set. I had seen some early episodes originally but watched all again. It is almost a bit "Lost on Mars" as the early series now do seem dated or rather perfectly portraying that time - the early 1990s. I found myself watching the clothes of DCI Tennison and of course the ageing of her in her character with all the trials and tribulations faced by a woman in the police force and in her personal life. She is a demanding , admirable yet imperfect character and it is heart wrenching to see the last episode when retirement beckons. Absolutely fantastic performance by Helen Mirren and of course the rest who make their characters just so believable!

Once again the HUSTLE crew have not failed to please.

They have presented us with another six episodes of this great programme.

I bought this because I liked series one and I have not been disappointed.

Watch out for episode six - it involves the crown jewels!

This would be a great addition to your collection and another six hours of great entertainment.

As M Thornton has said "This is not for the faint hearted" it has very graphic depictions of medical procedures which I had to fast forward through, OK no excuses I'm just squeamish.
The show contrasts the decent hardworking staff set against the NHS's target driven cultures where health is a secondary concern compared to achieving a decent star rating. With this in mind most of the better performances are by the "villains" of the piece especially Patrick Baladi as the surgeon whose errors are at the centre of the story, Keith Allen as the chief consultant and the hard nosed hospital managers whose stony faces could coagulate your blood at 10 paces.
It is a very well written and directed series, at times it is quite disturbing to watch ... Read More:

The other reviewer is partially correct inasmuch as Zoe Wanamaker , Elaine Paige and Geraldine McEwan do a first class job . One must not forget that Robert Pugh is excellent in his role too ! It is impressive that they managed to do this novel in 90 or so minutes when the Joan Hickson one was a three parter if memory serve me right . This adaptation is pretty cliched as lesbianism which is hinted at in the original novel & the Joan Hickson version is much more blatant in the Geraldine McEwan adaptation . This in your face approach confirms what the intelligent reader and/or viewer could have worked out for themselves . The location & the script are both spot on as is the casting - it has a great deal of drama and pace and so is a stunning piece of ... Read More:
