the first season laid the foundations for the seasons to come and this season of Buffy is certainly one of the best,with a bigger budget,and more episodes...also it goes a lot darker and progresses from the monster of the week episodes with a general main plot...contains some of the greatest episodes ever!!! When She Was Bad-5/5-already kicking the show back into gear and its a very good opener to this season. Some Assembly Required-2/5-unfortunately it isn't a very good episode but worth a couple views. this is one of the best tv shows i have seen, it is only second to heroes. the series revolves around Veronica Mars, a high school student and private investigator in the fictional Southern California seaside town of Neptune. As the daughter of well-respected County Sheriff Keith Mars, Veronica's biggest problem was getting unceremoniously dumped by her boyfriend, Duncan Kane, until the murder of her best friend Lilly Kane (Duncan's sister). I whole-heartedly agree with the review as given by Ray Blake from Hemel Hempstead, UK (below). Ray, I couldn't have put it better myself. Basically, you'll all be a little disappointed with this season. Although it still remains a great show, you wont find yourself as gripped as you were with the previous two seasons, and will find yourself bored with some episodes and wanting to skip ahead of some dialogues. Somehow, ths season's "Veronica Mars at College" approach tries to mature the show and the stories too much... including Mars herself. We just aren't getting the same great chemistry and witty banter going on between Veronica and her dad as we saw in the previous two seasons. while not being Buffy the vampire slayer,it certainly had entertainment value and(while not)becoming the best television show ever it is certainly one of the best...its in my top ten list...like when many grew up with Charlies Angels...i grew/ing up with this,Buffy,South Park,the new series of Doctor Who(:D)and The X Files. season one may not be the best season of the show but it is one of the best ways to start a show. eppy reviews- Sins of the Past-4/5-the start of a cultural icon. Each episode is leading to the big show down in the final episode when all the outstanding issues are supposed to come together so we discover who is behind the bus crash, etc. Except that it doesn't make sense, in one case the accused was with little Miss Mars herself when she said that they committed a certain action, but it's only on second viewing that you see the faults with the end result. According to the website it was just before the final episode was filmed that they got the green light for season 3 and changed the story at the last minute so that they did not loose the lead ... Its wonderful to watch the original series where Buffy, Xander, Giles and Willow are introduced. The episodes on the DVD are stunningly sharp although there aren't that many special features. My favourite episode is The Puppet Show. Sid is a great character and I can understand why they used him in the game. I also like the season finale. Definitely worth buying!
