Like some poeple have already admitted, I'm not the biggest comic book buff and I do not know a great deal about the Punisher history. But I do like to think i know action films, and this barely was one...
I would in no way say this movie is bad, but i think the most appropriate word is "WEAK".

Eventhough I reckon Tom Jane probably was the best choice for the character, he could've been allowed to play the character alot darker. The man has a giant skull on his t-shirt for god's sake!
I mean, why the hell did he need 3 useless neighbour buddies...? They served no purpose entertainment value-wise. But only to show that Frank Castle was still a nice guy with morales (kinda going against the whole "Frank Castle is dead, ... Read More:

Words really do fail me when I try to summon up feelings about this awful attempt at a movie. "Vapid", "puerile", "lazy", "contrived", "pointless" - nothing quite seems to capture the boiling hatred I felt whilst watching it. I hated the actors; I hated the script; I hated every aspect of the cinematics. Mostly, I think, I hated the fact that anyone ever saw any worth in it and provided funding to make it a painful reality.

I don't even want to pick apart this film's flaws: there are too many and they all converge to make one giant flaw in the fabric of modern filmmaking. Let's just condemn this piece of garbage by saying simply this: it copies The Blair Witch Project, focuses on its poorest elements and manages to make them even worse. ... Read More:

I hired this out at blockbuster. It looked interesting after reading the details on the back cover, but how disappointing it was once I actually watched the film. Apart from a not so shocking few moments at the end of the film, it was slow paced throughout.
Best to avoid........

Another UNRATED Dimension Extreme flick. (15 rated in the UK, it's that tame). Comparisons with Cannibal Holocaust & Blair Witch have been made, but really, it's not like either. I watched it a few weeks back and it's already a distant memory.. perhaps worth a rental, but don't buy, it'll only end up on your trading list..and no one will want it! :)

This is a great film and is criticised sooften about how bad it is, it isn't that bad atall!
This film includes some good acting and has plenty of action as well as a decent story!
This film is overated for its violence though as it isn't that violent really! Some scenes may be a bit violent but it isn't that bad!
I think this is a great film which is one film that should be put on a UMD so if you have a PSP and like action films then get this and mabe the UMD version of "Predator" to go with it as it is also a great action film which in my opinion is way more violent that this too!

This isn't your average gang vs. ex-cop film, in fact it may be the best one I've ever seen. Special agent Frank Castle had every intention of starting a normal life, but with his final undercover assignment came the death of Bobby Saint, son of the town's gang lord and let's just say there were repercussions, MASSIVE repercussions.
Apart from Castle's miraculously quick healing, the film is refreshingly believable plus "un-Hollywood-like", with the minor exception of the end. It is original for being distinctly grey: there is no good and bad, just humans fighting their emotions. Not only do the cast (Tom Jane and John Tavolta included) put in an outstanding performance but at no point does the film get consumed in mindless action, it tells its story with purpose and clarity. It is tragic, ... Read More:
