A short summation. Jaws 2 was a respectable sequel, let down only by Scheider's lacklustre performance (he reportedly didnt want to do the film, but was contractually obliged to) and by the incessant girly screaming in the catamaran sequences in the 2nd half ("aaaaaaah...a shark....get the boys to deal with it..." etc.) Certainly not the Moby Dick-esque tour-de-force of the "3-Men-In-A-Boat against the marine behemoth" first film (still one of the best films ever made), but more of a teen-slasher Halloween cheap thrills affair for winter popcorn nights in.

The 3rd film was just plain boring. At least they attempted to intercut real footage of sharks for some of the sequences, which added to the reality, although the rubber close ... Read More:

This boxed set is not described here by Amazon, and that makes it impossible to know what the content is. In fact some of the same dvds are offered by Amazon separately, so if you do not know which episodes are in this set you may already have some (like I did when I purchased this) or you may order some on a duplicated basis in the same order. So beware. For your information I will list the content here so that you can avoid this problem.

This set (The Bible) is the largest TV-based movie ever undertaken, and not to be confused with other films also named "The Bible", some of which are also sold here on Amazon.

The hijack story was prevalent in the 1970s but it was of course always planes. we now know that hi jacking planes can be a deadly activity with 9/11.

The imagination of writers is a thing to behold. The films starts with the incredulity of the train operators who laugh at the idea of someone trying to hijack a subway train.

As one characters say " Let them keep it we have plenty of them". The hijacking was easy enough and the story builds as it centres not on the hostages who we do not get to know as individuals.

No one was worked out how after they have got the money how they are going to escape. they are trapped in a tunnel and their every move is being monitored from above.

It is all about how the ... Read More:

A long way from the Hollywoodised version of a Lonesome Dove sequel seen in `Return from Lonesome Dove', this is Larry McMurty's riposte to the way the Studio handled that sequel. Where `Return..' dealt with the cattle barons and themes of redemption and wholesome endings, this is a stark and realistic portrayal of the West. Here, the violent men of the burgeoning West are a dying breed (no pun intended) and that sense of a time in history passing is present throughout the whole movie.
Captain Call is now a bounty hunter - past his best, failing eyesight and getting old, but still with his own inherent sense of what's right intact. The movie is a manhunt, for a young Mexican killer - a boy from a good family who was captured by the Apache and was bad ever since. ... Read More:

This is a wonderful film reflecting the true lives of two very different men who go on to make medical history. Its a great film that reminds us that success is often a test if fortitude and endurance. Perhaps the best aspect of the film revolves around the friendship between the 2 main characters and their individual journeys to success. Alfred Blalock and Vivien Thomas are remarkable characters of history but its Vivien Thomas who perhaps is the real jewel in the crowm in this story. A must watch.

I watched this move a while back, and have to say i have never had a movie shock me and movie as this one has in a very long time.
The movie tells the story of Dr Gisella Perl who survived the death camp at Auschwitz.
This lady saved many many many people in the horrible death camp by treating them for some of the horrid deseases they had picked up there. She was also forced to carry out abortions on mothers, otherwise they would be executed along with their babies. Later on she was also forced to carry out experiments on young mothers, and their unborn children.

After the war, she moved away from Europe in an effort to leave the horrors she had behind, and moved to the US. Once there the 'wonderfull' US government accused her of being a Nazi sympathizer, and of ... Read More:

After the dire Jaws 3 I was hoping this would re-energise the series. The opening certainly filled me with optimism, as with its excellent camera-work it looks very creepy, and the death of the younger Brody brother is very effectively-handled. But then it all falls apart like a rotten haddock. Mrs Brody (now a widow) goes to stay with her surviving son's family in the Bahamas (laughably fake accents abound). But the new shark on the block has followed her, intends to exact revenge for the death of its relatives. As if that wasn't idiotic enough, we are treated to people being crushed in the shark's jaws and then turning out to be alright after all cartoon-style. Considering this is 15, there's a ridiculously small bodycount. Mrs Brody, meanwhile, has flashbacks of things she never ... Read More:

Hmm, a bit of a jumble of scenes, this movie. The actors, the humid southern swampland feel, and the location photography were very good. The screenplay, while full of witty, southern style dialogue was not so good in overall design, often relying on long repetitive car chases instead of more meaningful action. As a Brit watching it 35 years after it was made, I obviously struggled with the concept of there being a serious black market trade in the States of poteen or moonshine liquor in the 1970s. It could just be that I don't know this culture at all, and I don't, but I had to bend over backwards to find any credibility in this generally entertaining action caper. The big HOWEVER is, Burt Reynolds was in fine old form, being butch, as ever and wisecracking his way through some enjoyable dialogue. ... Read More:
