This series is worth buying for 'The Matchmaker' alone. It's an episode that telegraphs its intentions from the outset but never misses an opportunity to crank up the signature cringe factor. I don't think there's ever been a more perfectly crafted and beautifully performed 30mins of sit-com, and I would argue that it is without peer in the genre. It is, quite simply, masterful.

I loved the 1st season and couldn't wait to get this dvd. The episodes are funnier and so is the acting. Cant wait for season 3!!!!!!! Only get this dvd if u have a multi regional dvd player tho!

Firstly, I just want to address a couple of issues about this DVD. The first is that I bought this as a temporary measure while I wait for the Region 2 release of the post-season-4 seasons of Frasier and Cheers, which seem to be taking forever to come out! A technical note for anyone in the UK is that this DVD set plays at 23 frames-per-second, where most DVDs play at 25 in the UK. This means that every now and again, even if you're using a multi-region player, you will experience a slight judder in the image. It's barely noticeable and you do get used to it, but this is another reason why I hope someday to sell this on eBay once I've got a proper Region 2 version. The seventh season is definitely the best season (well equally the best along with season 4). It contans fantastic episodes such as Back Talk, The Fight Before Christmas, Dark Side Of The Moon and Something Borrowed Someone Blue parts 1 & 2. The opening episode (Momma Mia) sees Frasier date a woman who looks identical to his mother. At first he can't see it until Niles points it out to him! In "The Dog That Rocks The Cradle" (great episode) we see the return of Bulldog who becomes a babysitter for Roz's baby. Bulldog confesses in the end that he just wanted to be the babysitter because he's in love with Roz!In "Back Talk" we see Frasier's back go out - he takes medication and ends up telling Daphne that Niles is in love with ... After the frenzied and brilliant ending to series 7 it was difficult to see where the show could go. After all Nile's unrequited passion for Daphne was a staple ingredient to the show and so surely once they were paired up the humour in their relationship would end? Funnily enough it would seem that for this series anyway Niles' and Daphnes' new relationship was going to become a real hurdle for the scriptwriters to get over. this was exacerbated by the fact that the actress who played Daphne was pregnant as shooting began and so a strained and somewhat annoying story arc began of Daphne overeating and becoming fat and her and Niles battling with their infuriated former partners. to be honest it was all a little strained and farcical and led to the ...
