Bought this about 2 years ago and if I ever need frightening I will always put this on, this compilation has 4 stories all interwieved by the excellent Peter Cushing as the owner of an antique shop ,
The first story has David Warner buying a mirror and finding a ghost in the mirror from the past wanting dead bodies to eat a 5/5 story for me ,brilliant.
2nd story stars Donald Pleasence, Diana Dors and Ian Bannen, this involves Ian Bannen pretending he`s a war hero and has weedelling his way into the affections of Pleasences real life daughter Angela with dire consquences.
Story 3 is the worst where Ian Carmichael is haunted by a sort of invisible gremlin, this one is why i`ve given this review 4 stars.

The Land That Time Forgot [1974]

It is very easy for the shallow Star Wars generation to dismiss films like these as poor, mainly because they cannot see beyond the set dressing. Yes, the effects are ropey by today's standards. They were not that hot in their day compared with the work of Ray Harryhausen. But try looking beyond this and you will see a well plotted and nicely constructed movie boasting an intelligent script (co written by Michael Moorcock). The theme of the lost world being some kind of giant womb (where its species go through various stages of evolution) give it an innovative touch over other dinosaur flicks. And it is not badly acted either, even if John McCenery had to be dubbed by Anton Differing to cover up his ... Read More:

Before Luke Skywalker, there was Doug McClure... His John Dark-Kevin Connor fantasy adventures were a mainstay of Summer holiday movies in the days before Star Wars: they weren't masterpieces, they didn't boast state-of-the-art special effects, but they were exactly what an audience of kids wanted from a film back in the mid 70s.

At the Earth's Core is by far the most enjoyable of the bunch, catching just the right tone for the appropriately named Burroughs' pulp adventure about Victorian inventor Peter Cushing and the inevitable Doug McClure ending up in the underground world of Pelucidar and battling its evil telepathic fighting dinosaurs. This time the puppets are gone in favor of men in monster suits, which is a lot more fun if you're ... Read More:

Now I disagree with the previous reviewer who says that this isn't as good as the original. THIS IS LOADS BETTER! The main reason for this is because it keeps from using too many silly dinosour puppets and uses more human monsters, the naga warriors. Add a busty cave girl and a young Sarah Douglas and you have a good old fashioned adventure. Perfect Saturday afternoon viewing.

DVD : Mary, Mother Of Jesus [1999]
I had mixed feelings about this film before watching it.
Will it be as good as The Passion Of The Christ?
Well it was a beautiful and emotional film.
I cried with Mary and also found the story very moving seeing it through the eyes of the Mother Of Jesus.
I would put it up there with The Passion Of The Christ.
