If you don't like films that are straight to the point or show things exactly how they are without the gloss then I'd avoid this but otherwise I'd definitely recommend you view it. This is a film full of the gritty truth that is teenage life and isn't just another glossy hollywood export. It doesn't deny what really goes on behind closed doors or make things appear so much better than they are. If you want a real view of teenagers then maybe this is the one for you. Of course there are always going to be the critics that say this is practically pornography and in a way they have a point. What a let down ,after watching kids and bully ,i hoped this film would be worth watching ,how wrong could i be? The only people that could be interested would be skaters ,but they would probably laugh at it ,perhaps that is the crack,it must be a comedy ,my advice avoid .

i saw this film on e4 a few years ago: it was early morning and I was doing a nightshift with an older woman who had kids. The experience didn't shock her, nor me, and served only to grip us both. What else can be said about this film? It's a product of a man who came from a photography background, it can be expected that he'd have a tendency to let his camera linger over beautifully broken subjects. The 'homoeroticism' within this film seemed to only serve as a device to show the perversion of the character, because while homosexuality is not perverse, the characters reaction showed just how he felt about the action being viewed.
