This film is available under 3 different titles. Zombie, Zombi 2 and Zombie Flesheaters. Back in the late 70s Dario Argento did his own cut of Romero's Dawn Of The Dead, calling it Zombi, for the Italian and European market. Lucio Fulci was commitioned to exploit its success and do a cash in version which was called Zombi 2 (to make people think it was a sequel). It was then released in the US as Zombie and, eventually, in the UK as Zombie Flesheaters. It doesnt have the same class as Romero's stuff but its still one of the original classic zombie flicks. The gore is everywhere and the zombies are disgusting- the one area that did improve on Romero's work. If you do decide to watch this then please try to get hold of one of the imported versions ... Finally your Vipco video can be laid to rest and replaced with the best UK release to date of this notorious slasher. Although this has been cut by the BBFC (19 seconds - not 34 as incorrectly listed elsewhere) the edits have been extremely well done with no loss of enjoyment (if that's the word!) to the scene in question.
Presented in widescreen with the usual excellent quality print from Shameless this is a must for horror fans anywhere and still looks as sleazy and grim as ever. A nasty but necessary purchase.

One of Lucio Fulcio's best thrillers-did Carol really kill her sexy gorgeous neighbour or did she dream the lesbien affair & murder? The whole movie is very dreamlike with a great Ennio Morricone theme- if you like the Italian giallo genre-you will love this trippy murder tale!

i remember seeing this at the cinema , aged 16 and scared the heck out of me! it later became a mainstay of our 'tuesday night video b movies',
scoring well on gore, laughs and downright cheesiness.
if you are a fan of b horrors you'll love this.

Zombi 3(Zombie Flesheaters 2 in the UK) is a bad movie but that does not mean there is no fun to be had. The film moves along at a fast pace and has some delirious moments like a flying zombie head, a baby zombie ripping from its mothers womb and a zombie DJ. The acting is also over the top and - SPOILER - Ottaviano Dell Aquas death scene is hillarious(How does he go suddenly from the village to a big field?). Although for some reason there is very little gore.

The uk dvd from Vipco has a letterboxed 1.85:1 transfer that is dull and washed out. People have already mentioned that Vipcos dvd is missing the opening sequence but it is also missing other scenes including the terrorist checking into the hotel and another scene of the girls praying for their ... The first in Fulcis so called gothic trilogy, it has a great atmosphere, great music and convincingly good gory special effects. It is not as good as The Beyond or The House by the Cemetery but stands on its own two feet as an excellent addition to the genre.
Vipcos dvd has a non-anamorphic 1.85:1 transfer that looks like it was mastered from a vhs tape, it is watchable enuogh but tends to get a little muddy. On the extras front Vipco have surprisingly produced some extra material including a commentary with actress Catriona Mccoll and writer Jay Slater and a five minute interview with Macoll.

I haven't spent much time watching giallos, not for any particular reason really; I just haven't got around to them yet. I decided to start (again) with Lucio Fulci's "Don't Torture a Duckling." This is a rare film that I believe Fulci haters will tend to enjoy,

In a small village in southern Italy, young preadolescent boys are turning up dead from strangulation. Evidence points to a number of possible suspects, especially the local "witch," Martiara (Florinda Bolkan), whose voodoo practices and possible insanity make her a likely candidate. But what about Patrizia (Barbara Bouchet), the bored city girl hiding out after a drug scandal, who now passes the time by flaunting her naked body in front of children? The local Catholic Church, headed by young Don Alberto ... Read More:

Ive been a fan of Fulcis for years and its so refreshing to find yet another brilliant film to add to the collection. I dont think this film will appeal to fans of New York Ripper so much, but more to fans of Beyond and House By The Cemeterey (ie:the classics)as it relies heavily on atmosphere and dialogue (suprisingly good for a fulci film). Plus, as usual the cinematography is incredible, especially in the opening opening rooftop scene and the cats eye view as he stalks the streets at night, which are some of the best scenes in any Fulci film. David Warbeck (The Beyond)and Patrick Magee (A Clockwork Orange) also make this suprisingly interesting viewing. If your a fan of these films, i highly recommend this one. Im glad to have finally discovered it!
