This is not my normal sort of movie, but watched this with a friend. The film starts quite slowly, building up the background of our main characters and eventually moves to a very emotional climax. With an excellent script, story and acting, this movie has you getting frustrated with the characters and going through all that they are. With an interesting view of how Afghanistan and the Taliban are, this moving really opens your eyes and makes you think.

OK, so I may be alone in thinking this, but the obvious comparison for this movie is The Truman Show and yet, it's so much better than The Truman Show! Will Ferrell and Emma Thompson are excellent and convincing. The story resonates long after the film ends. The script and visuals are a treat. It's both thought-provoking and entertaining. It simply deserves to be seen.

The plot is a little boring but great acting from Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet.

Stranger Than Fiction is the story of Harold Crick; a maths genius who's working for the IRS. He's got to audit a beautiful baker, Ana Pascal, but he's got an annoying problem: he's got a female narrator following him around. Things get worse for Crick when she announces he'll die, and his only hope is a professor to save him, but the big mistake he's made is he's forgotten to free himself.

Will Ferrell and Emma Thompson are amazing in this film, Farrell showing that he can do serious roles as well as be very funny (Anchorman, Starsky And Hutch, just to name a few), and Thompson with her typical English Rose flair. I also enjoyed Queen Latifah's role, often overlooked by many and has redeemed her from her poor role in Taxi and Bringing Down The ... Read More:

This is a film that bends the mind like "Mulholland Drive" and like that film the clue lies in the opening sequence, in this case with the burning car on Brooklyn Bridge, if you understand this you will understand what is happening in the film.

"Stay" is an awesome achievement, delving into real life in an hallucinatory drama centred on a superb performance by Ryan Gosling as the psychologically unstable student Henry Letham. Psychiatrist Sam Foster (Ewan McGregor) becomes involved in the life of his perplexing patient whose behaviour resonates with his partners problems, Lila Culpepper (Naomi Watts).

This is one helluva complex, multifaceted, multilayered drama that stretches the mind and demands undivided attention from start to finish. ... Read More:

These 6 films are at first glance odd choices, as you would normally have expected classics such as Rainman and Marathon Man on a Dustin film collection.

Very impressed with the quality and diversity of work here on these 6 films, only 1 (Hero) of which i already owned.

Joan of Arc is probably the strangest inclusion here, but is still visually stunning and worth a look.
Some of the others, like Tootsie, i hadn't seen for years and enjoyed watching them again.

The dvds are packaged in individual space saving folding card cases, all featuring the same artwork and extra features as the original single releases, within an outer cardboard cover.

Works out at around £2.00 to £3.00 per film, so this represents excellent ... Read More:
